13u Cougars in the title game!

Our 3 football stars (Krawczyk, O'Donnell and Treacy) have advanced to the SWMFL title game after a 20-0 drubbing of Dolton. The championship game is Sunday November 8th at Brother Rice High School against Mokena...

13u Cougars still alive in football playoffs...

Our three football players have advanced to the semi finals of the SWMFL playoffs with a 32-0 win over Oak Forest. Next up for the 8-1 Stallions, the Dolton Bears...

13u Cougar Taylor O'Donnell dashed for a 60 yd TD during a 42-6 Stallion romp over New Lenox on Saturday. Best of Luck to our 13u Cougars(Billy Krawczyk, Brendan Treacy and O'Donnell) as their 7-1 Stallion team begins playoff competition this weekend in New Lenox vs. Oak Forest...

13u Cougars play in the "MUD BOWL"

Taylor O'Donnell had an interception to set up the Stallions 2nd touchdown leading to a 32-0 rout over Joliet on Saturday in the rain and mud in Homer. 13u Cougars Billy Krawczyk and Brendan Treacy also saw extensive action and played a big part in the muddy, fun filled game...

Defensive studs....

13u Cougars Brendan Treacy and Billy Krawczyk played a big role in a swarming defensive effort the other night as their Stallion team romped over New Lenox 30-0. Both linebackers were involved in many tackles and Brendan put a seal on the shutout with an interception on the last defensive stand of the game!

Cougar football stars...

Congrats to newest Cougar Billy Krawczyk on his touchdown run recently. 13u Cougar Taylor O'Donnell had a 60+ yard TD run called back by a penalty in the same game, a 31-0 victory. Billy, Taylor and Brendan Treacy are all members of a solid Stallion football team that is currently 4-1 and a top contender for the Championship this season!

Congratulations to 13u Cougar Ryan McDermott for recently being nominated for the St.Rita High School "Mustang Award." This award recognizes Academic and Athletic Achievement/Excellence and just to be nominated is a true honor and accomplishment!

2010 Winter Workouts

Winter workouts begin Saturday January 16th 2pm-5pm at Eich's in Plainfield, IL.

13u Cougars Welcome newest member...

The 13u Cougar roster is set for 2010 with the addition of Billy Krawczyk. Billy is an established travel player who will be a huge addition to the returning Cougar roster. BK will play infield and outfield and his ability to help defensively will be a huge lift! The Cougar offensive lineup was potent in 2009 and anything Billy adds will be welcome. The pitching staff was already deep and adding Billy to the pitching arsenal will make the Cougars that much more dangerous. Congratulations Billy and welcome to the Cougar family! Our ability to bring everyone back and the addition of our newest member makes for a real strong club for 2010...

13u Cougar selected for the school team...

Congratulations to 13u Cougar Taylor O'Donnell on making the Homer Jr. High Baseball team. "T" is one of 15 7th graders, selected from the 40 who tried out, to represent his school. Taylor was the leading hitter for the 12u Cougars in 2009 with a .417 batting average and the leader in rbi's with 61. Best of Luck "T", we are proud of you!

12u Cougars wrap up season!

The 12u Cougars wrapped up the 2009 season in solid fashion with a 13-1,(5 inning) victory over Undercover Baseball on Saturday. Ryan McDermott pitched 3 scoreless innings for the win while Davis Purviance and Nick Bratcher each pitched a solid inning in relief. Everyone contributed offensively while the defense played near flawless baseball highlighted by Purviance's great diving catch on a looper over the infield and Taylor O'Donnell gunning down a runner trying to steal second early in the game which helped stymie Undercovers' running game. The 12u club made great strides in 2009 giving everyone hope that 2010 will be a special year...

Goin' Yard....

Congratulations to 12u Cougar Nick Bratcher on his mammoth blast the other night that cleared the fences at Reed School. The hit traveled an estimated 285 feet... Nick has hit a few on the road, that either had deeper fences or no fence at all, that would have cleared the Reed dimensions as well. Way to go Nick!

12u Cougars stay Hot!

The 12u Cougars just completed another solid weekend going 3-1. The Cougars defeated the Tinley Park Bobcats 8-4 on Friday behind a solid outing by Ryan McDermott and a save for Taylor O'Donnell. Saturday the Cougars split with the Dwight Titans dropping the first game 7-6 before coming back to win the nightcap with the win going to Matt Maza and O'Donnell picking up another save. Sunday the Cougars defeated a tough Reed-Custer team in Braidwood 7-4. Some stellar defense backed up another solid pitching perfomance by winner Ryan McDermott with Mike Pratl picking up the save. The Cougars trailed 2-1 in the 4th when Jake Gluszek hit a tape measure bomb for a triple, then scored on a wild pitch to tie the game and the Cougars never looked back...McDermott, Jeff Schoenhofen(just returning from the DL) and Connor Murphy added key hits during the 4 run rally!

Bringing your "A" game doesn't always result in a win! Bringing your "A" effort makes you a winner EVERY time!!!!

12u Thrillers...

The 12u Cougars have won 3 of their last 4 games including 2 last inning come from behind road game nail-biters. After a 12-5 victory over the Tinley Bobcats at home on Friday night the Cougars came from behind to defeat a bewildered EPIR club on Saturday morning. After sleepwalking their way to a 6-3 deficit, the Cougars scored 5 runs in the 7th to come home with an 8-6 victory. Brendan Treacy pitched 2 outstanding innings in relief to earn the win and Taylor O'Donnell closed the door in the 7th for the save.  Catcher Jake Gluszek threw out a man trying to steal 3rd base to end the game. The 7th inning began with Davis Purviance sparking the rally with a leadoff triple. O'Donnell doubled him in and the flood gates were opened. Ryan McDermott's HUGE 2 out hit scored the  tying run and Luke Eaton's hit put the Cougars ahead.

The Cougars again saved the dramatics for the end during a 10-7 victory over Hittersworld. The Cougars trailed 7-6 going into the 7th. Luke Eaton battled his way to a leadoff walk. Connor Murphy placed a perfect bunt for a single. Continuing with the small ball approach, Brendan Treacy put down an absolutely perfect sacrifice bunt to move the runners into scoring position. Davis Purviance then beat out an infield hit that scored Eaton for the tie. Taylor O'Donnell singled home Murphy for the go ahead run. After a double steal with 2 outs, Nick Bratcher singled home the 2 runners giving Nicky 5 rbi on the night and the Cougars a little breathing room! In the bottom of the 7th after Purviance made a sparkling "Big League play" at shortstop for the 1st out, O'Donnell struck out the next 2 batters for the win! This Big Ole' freight train is starting to roll downhill and picking up momentum just in time for the 2nd half of the season including the Omaha Trip!

Michael Pratl honored...

12u Cougar Mike Pratl received the President's Award for Educational Excellence recently by maintaining an "A" average on his report card in the 4th, 5th and now 6th grades. This is an outstanding achievement that the Pratls' are proud of and the entire Cougar family shares pride in. It is difficult to get to the top, even more difficult to maintain that standard. This award is a result of hard work, dedication, desire and responsibility. All traits that Michael has shown on the ball field as well! Congratulations Michael!!! It is an honor for the Cougar coaches to be able to continue working with the incredible young men that we have in our program...

Just when you "think" you're tired and have had enough, dig a little deeper. The best ballplayers always find that there is more in the tank!!!

12u Cougars finish 2nd...

The 12u Cougars finished second in the Dwight Titans Early Bird Tournament. The Cougars were defeated by a tough Morris Tribe club 7-4 in the title game. 5 unearned runs led to the Cougars demise... Overall it was a very successful weekend for the Cougars who were the top scoring team in the tournament averaging nine runs a game. The pitching remains solid and the bats are coming to life!

Honor Roll? Perfect Attendance? Touchdown, Goal, Hole-in-one? Read a book or CLEANED HIS ROOM! Everything one of our Cougar kids accomplishes is important! Send the info to Coach Jim and we will post it for all to be proud of!

We are proud of all of our Cougar players' accomplishments, athletically and/or academically. Perhaps the thing that really makes the coaches most proud is the fact that we usually end our discussion about each player with the statement, "what a great kid". We really are blessed to have some remarkable young men in this organization!

"If you are nervous you are human, if you are scared you are unprepared"

"Wait 'til next year?" NOPE! "Next year started yesterday!"

Quitting and running away never is the remedy! It becomes your mindset, a way of life, and only leads you down yet another losing path!

There is no off-season when working toward Excellence and Success!

Being good is fine if you're an average player playing on an average ballclub. Work toward becoming an EXCEPTIONAL player on a DOMINANT ballclub!!!
