Lincoln Youth Football & Cheerleading Association is a proud member of the American Youth Football (AYF) organization and the Blackstone Valley Youth Football & Cheerleading (BVYF&C) organization.  AYF is the largest accredited youth football & cheer organization in the country and is in partnership with the NFL. 

The following teams are part of the BYF&C organization:

Additional benefits includes:


  • State Champions, New England Champions and National Champions are awarded for each division in both football and cheerleading

  • 5 different contact football teams as well as increased playing time

  • Cheerleaders take part in a State Championship either as competitors or exhibition as well as Regionals and Nationals Cheer Competitions.

  • Options to form both Cheerleading and Dance Squads

8TH GRADE ALL AMERICAN PLAYING DIVISION. This division is age and grade based, not weight based. This means that any child ages 12, 13, or 14 in the 7th or 8th grade can play youth football, no matter what they weigh. This is the only program of this type in RI and Southeastern MA. Please be advised that the fees includes the 2 mandatory raffle tickets!

 


LYF&C is for players and cheerleaders ages 5 -15.  Participants must be age 5 prior to July 31th and age 15 on or after July 31th.    


Online registration will begin on March 1st and mail in registration will begin on March 1st. Registration form is available in the handout section, in which you can download, please complete the registration form (front & back) and mail the Registration Form and Check (made payable to LYF&C) to PO Box 503, Lincoln, RI 02865.

Returning Players/Cheerleaders the Physician Physical form will need to be completed for each season of play.  The form is located in the handout section and must be handed in on the first day of practice (August 1st) in order to participant in practices.   An Original Birth Certificate is required every 2 years.

New Players/Cheerleaders LYF&C will need to receive an Original Birth Certificate plus 2 copies and Physician Physical form by the first day of practice.  The original birth certificate will be given back after certification.

Recogination of Football Players/Cheerleaders (Special Awards):

 

The Butterfly and Ironman Awards is given to a cheerleader/football player who has reached the age of 14 as of July 31st prior to the start of a season and who has been a player/cheerleader since the age of 8 (M. Mites) and has been an active member with Lincoln Lions through the completion of the Midget level.  When these players/cheerleaders are determined to be eligible for the award, the Executive Board will meet and make recommendation on the type of award that will be given to a player/cheerleader.

 

Departing Seniors Awards is given to a cheerleader/football player who has reached the age of 14 as of July 31st prior to that start of a season and who has been active member with the organization for three (3) seasons.  When these players/cheerleaders are determined to be eligible for the award, the Executive Board will meet and make recommendation on the type of award that will be given to the player/cheerleader.

 

These awards are presented at the Annual Sports Banquet which is held in January. 

 

COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP:

Each year Lincoln Youth Football & Cheerleading Association will award a $500 scholarship to two (2) college bound graduating seniors, one representing football and one representing cheerleading. Applications are located in the Handout Section. The applications must be submitted after January and before May of the entering year to college. A lottery will be at the May meeting of the Executive Board members and the recipient will be notified by mail if they are selected. The Scholarship payment will be made to the recipient after the completion of the first semester of second education and a copy of the recipient first semester transcript must be sent to the Lincoln Youth Football & Cheerleading Executive Board. Criteria - the applicant must have participated in the Lincoln Youth Football & Cheerleading for a minimum of three (3) years, with one of those years being the applicant 14th year of age. The applicant does not need to be a resident of the Town of Lincoln. They only have to been a participant in the Lincoln Youth Football & Cheerleading Association.
