Lincoln Youth Cheerleading (LYC)

INFORMATION SHEET

Our Competitive Cheer teams (Division 10 & up) will compete in state cheer competition and will have the opportunity to compete at regional and national levels. This is an incredible opportunity for all of our girls. Our Flag & Mighty Mite Cheerleaders will perform at State Competition as well!! All Cheerleaders are required to participate in State Competition including Flag and Mitey Mites.

UNIFORMS – LYC will provide each girl with the skirt and vest. These are property of the Lincoln Youth Football & Cheerleading organization and should be maintained in a clean/presentable condition at all times.

TEAM PLACEMENT/COACHES - Team placement will be determined by July 1st and announcement of coaches for teams will be announced by June 30th.

REQUIRED ITEMS - Cheerleaders are responsible to purchase the sneakers, body suit, and lollipops (briefs) as well as Cheer Curls, hair ribbon and cheer socks (items for competition) these items will be purchased through the cheer coordinator. The below is due on the first day of practice for ALL cheerleaders. There will be a sizing day held the first week of practice.

COST PER ITEM:

Div 10 & Up - Sneakers - $40.00

Flag & M. Mites Sneakers - $20.00

Bodysuit - $16.00

Lollipops - $7.00

Cheer Hair - $20.00 (if you do not have your cheer hair from last year and not needed for Flag & MM)

Hair Ribbon - $5.00

Socks - $5.00

PRACTICES – Practices will begin on Monday, July 27th at 6:00 pm at the Lincoln High School Front Field. The Head Coach for each division will contact you concerning the schedule and location of practices. Please remember CHEERLEADING IS A TEAM SPORT that means the absence of one cheerleader can affect the entire practice and/or game. It is the responsibility of the cheerleader and/or parent to contact a coach if a cheerleader is unable to attend a practice and/or game. If a coach is not notified, it will be considered an unexcused absence. After 3 unexcused absences, the matter will be addressed with the Cheer Coordinator and the Executive Board. Cheerleaders must be prepared for practice by wearing shorts/warm up pants, t-shirts (NO INAPPRORIATE SHIRTS), sneakers, and have hair secured away from their face. Please make sure they have a water bottle or canteen.

IF YOUR CHILD CANNOT MAKE PRACTICE or A GAME, PLEASE CALL YOUR COACH!!!

CONDUCT & RESPONSIBILTY – Cheerleaders must conduct themselves properly at all times. Undesirable behavior is unacceptable; this includes improper/foul language, unsportsmanlike conduct, and disrespect of coaches, teammates and parents.

No Gum, Food, Jewelry, Nail Polish and/or Makeup are allowed during practices or games.
