Rose's Garden Grill wins Minor League Championship
Rose's Garden Grill defeated Huber Locksmith to win the Minor League Championship Saturday afternoon. It was a well played game. Rose's Garden Grill remained undefeated throughout the playoffs. Great job!

Linwood Gulf wins Little League Championship
Linwood Gulf defeated Balsley Losco 3-0 Friday night to win the 2007 Little League Championship.  N. Sarkos pitched a one hitter through 5 innings.  B. John pitched a scoreless sixth inning to earn the save.  M. Tepedino and R. Papademetriou pitched well for Balsley Losco.  There were some excellent defensive plays made throughout the game, but the best was a catch made by centerfielder J. Snook of Balsley Losco.  Great Championship Series everyone!

Huber Locksmith Advances
Huber Locksmith advanced to the Minor League Championship round with a win over Short Orthodontics on Tuesday night. The game was a 4+ hour rain delayed game that ended 26-25. Huber Locksmith will face Rose's Garden Grill in the finals.

Sunday, June 10
Two Teams Advance to the Championship Round
Rose's Garden Grill advanced to the Championship Round of the Minor League playoffs with a win over Jersey Door 15-12 on Saturday afternoon. Rose's will face the winner of the Huber Locksmith/Short Orthodontics series that is currently tied 1-1.

Balsley Losco advanced to the Championshop Round of the Little League playoffs with a win over Margate Bridge 7-5 on Saturday night. Balsley Losco will face Linwood Gulf in the finals with the first game at 6:00pm on Monday night.

Thank you to all the umpires that have been contributing during the season! The back to back games in the playoffs are working the regulars pretty hard. Keep up the good work!

Linwood Babe Ruth makes the playoffs
The Linwood Babe Ruth team finished their season with a 14-11 win over Galloway, Friday night. Their final regular season record was 9-7, which qualifies them for the playoffs. Their 1st playoff game is on Saturday 6/16 at 7:00pm versus Ventnor. The game is being played in Northfield.

Linwood Gulf advances to Little League Finals
Linwood Gulf defeated Glenn Insurance 8-7 to advance to the Little League playoff finals. G. Winarick, N. Lawless, M. Juliano and B. John pitched for Linwood Gulf. D. Padick, M. Petrella and C. O'Shea pitched for Glenn Insurance. It was another exciting game between the two evenly matched teams.

Saturday, June 9
Margate Bridge & Balsley Losco series tied 1-1
The Little League playoff series between Margate Bridge and Balsley Losco is tied at 1 game a piece. In game 1, Margate Bridge defeated Balsley 15-1. M.Greenman and J. Cervi had HRs for Margate Bridge. J. Cervi was the winning pitcher. M. Tepedino and M. Lichtenstein pitched for Balsley. In game 2, Balsley Losco defeated Margate Bridge 3-2. J. Wallace hit 2 HRs and recorded all 3 RBIs. R. Papademetriou was the winning pitcher. J. Liang, J. Cervi, T. Bradway, and T. Kuddar all had hits for Margate Bridge. Pivotal game 3 will be played on Saturday afternoon.

Friday, June 8
Short Orthodontics Advances in ML Playoffs
Short Orthodontics advanced in the ML playoffs by beating Edmunds and Asssociates 8-3 and taking the series 2 games to 1. D. Riska pitched a no hitter through 5.1 innings and was lifted due to the pitch count. R. Sarkos recorded the save for Short O. K. Gerace, D. Smith and J. Dinofrio all pitched well for Edmunds. Short O will face Huber Locksmith in the next playoff round

Linwood Gulf wins game #1
Linwood Gulf defeated Glenn Insurance Wednesday night 8-7 in game 1 of the playoff series. N. Sarkos was the winning pitcher for Linwood Gulf and contributed a 3 run homer to the win. B. John recorded the save for Linwood Gulf. J. Cooper pitched well for Glenn Insurance. C. O'Shea pitched well in relief for Glenn Insurance and also slugged a homerun that almost landed on Shore Road. There were some excellent defensive plays made in the field by both teams.

Run Butted In
Linwood Gulf defeated Margate Bridge in extra innings 10-9 on Saturday evening.  It was an exciting game with J. Feldman and J. Cervi both registering 2 hits for Margate Bridge.  One of J. Cervi hits was a HR.  Linwood Gulf hit the ball well all game.  G. Winarick was hit by a pitch (in the hind quarters) with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 7th inning, which scored the winning run.  Thus, the game has been dubed the "Run Butted In Game"

Edmunds wins game #1 in Minor League Playoffs
Edmunds and Associates won game 1 in the best of 3 playoff series against Short Orthodontics on Saturday.  It was an excellent game with great plays being made by both teams.  The regular 6 innings was not enough to decide a winner.  Edmunds came back from behind and won 5-4 in 7 innings.  The next game is scheduled for Tuesday 6/5 @ 6:00pm.

Field of Dream Game
The Field of Dream game at the AC Surf was exciting for everyone that participated.  The AC Surf players were very enthusiastic and had fun with the kids. 

The Little League HR Derby leading up to the game had the following results: J. Cervi 7 homeruns, T. Kuddar 3 homeruns, T. Bradway 3 homeruns.  The Little League Accuracy Derby leading up to the game had the following results: J. Cervi 2 hits, J. Kirk 1 hit, A. Furman 1 hit.  Nice job J. Cervi and all that participated!

T. Bradway, J. Cervi, and T. Kuddar all homered for Margate Bridge in an 11-4 win over Glenn Insurance.  M. Petrella, D. Padick, and D. Taylor all pitched for Glenn Insurance in the Saturday night game.

C O'Shea hits 3 homers!
C O'Shea hit 3 homeruns in consecutive at bats for Glenn Insurance. J. Cooper added a homerun as Glenn Insurance went on to beat Linwood Gulf 10-6 on Wednesday night. B. John came on and pitched two shutout innings in relief for Linwood Gulf.

Linwood Gulf defeated Glenn Insurance 7-3 on Cinco de Mayo. N. Sarkos hit his first homerun of the year for Linwood Gulf. B. John pitched 5 innings and M. Juliano recorded the save for Linwood Gulf. J. Cooper looked strong on the mound and pitched a complete game for Glenn Insurance.

Little League Schedule Change
Due to scheduling conflicts, there will be no interleague games between Somers Point and Linwood.  All Linwood Little League teams are effected.  Please check the online schedule for the updates.

The Belhaven Band Trip is 5/16.  If you are in the band and unable to play on 5/16, please let your coach know.

First Homerun of the Season
G. Winarick of Linwood Gulf, hit the first HR of the 2007 season with a 3 run shot against Margate Bridge. It almost landed on the Margate Bridge. The two teams traded leads several times during the exciting game. J. Cervi pitched the last two innings for Margate Bridge and earned the save as Margate Bridge came out on top 10-8.

Little League Kicks Off the Season
Margate Bridge defeated Balsley Losco 13-4 on opening day. J. Feldman got the win pitching 4 innings. T. Bradway was 4 for 4 with a walk and J. Geiger had 2 hits with 3 RBIs in the winning effort. G Papademetriou had 3 RBIs for Balsley Losco.

Friday Night Under the Lights
Rose's Garden Grill won the Minor League opening game of the year versus Short Orthodontics. R. Oshea pitched 3 strong innings and had an inside the park HR for Rose's Garden Grill. P. Higbee pitched two strong innings and reached base twice for Short Orthodontics. Nice job guys!

Greg Pettit Hitting Clinic at MRHS
There will be a hitting clinic for Minor League, Little League, and Babe Ruth at the Mainland Regional HS Gym on 2/23/07, 3/2/07, and 3/9/07 from 7:00pm until 9:00pm. Greg Pettit will be the lead instructor with other coaches attending.
