Headline: Lindy White Beats Crosstown Rival Lindy National 3-1 to move to 5-2 for the Season

Tuesday October 23rd (Phelps Lane)

Lindy National went up 1-0 early, despite 3 strikeouts by John R., and solid pitching by Aiden D. In the third inning, National hit a 3-run home run, which they thought put them up 4-0. However, the batter was caught by the umpire using an illegal bat! The runs came off the board and the batter was called out. In the bottom of the inning, White’s offense came alive, with 3 runs scored by Shane B., Jake Z. and Sean C. Now up 3-1, White’s defense held National to no more runs, highlighted by a huge catch in right field by James L. In the last inning and with one out, White intentionally walked a batter (the player who hit the ”home run”) to load the bases. Connor P. struck out the next batter, and Sebastian B. made an unassisted play at third base for the third out to seal the exciting victory for White. Great job by the entire team!
