Transitional Baseball and Softball (7-8 year olds): $55
Minor Baseball and Softball (9-10 year olds): $100
Major Baseball and Softball (11-12 year olds): $100

*There is an additional fee of $5-8 when registering online. This fee dependent on your total cost and is charged by our online service. It does not go to Lincoln Little League.

REGISTER EARLY! Do not wait until spring to think about playing ball.

Two Ways to Register
1. Online
Register online by using the link at the top of this page.  Registering online makes it easier for league volunteers because of less paperwork and data to manage so we appreciate it if you use that system. Online registration will close on March 15 for our juniors, majors, and minors divisions. Online registration will close on March 29 for our tee ball and transitional divisions.

2. In-Person
Register in person on Feb-28 or Mar-7 from 9AM-1PM in front of the LHS East Gym (main gym).  This is a good way to get your questions answered while registering.  We will also try to have sample uniforms available to try on.

Residency Rules
As a chartered Little League we must follow certain residency rules. Generally, registration in Lincoln Little League is only open to kids residing within our league boundaries (same as the Lincoln Schools District borders). This is a Little League rule and is not controlled by our local league.

Residency rule exceptions:
1. If a child resides outside of our league boundaries but attends a school within our league boundaries he/she is eligible to play in our league. Contact the league if this applies to you because special paperwork must be completed.
2. If you’ve recently moved out of our area you can still play in our league. Contact a league official if this applies to you.

Important Dates:
March 7 - Final in-person registration for most age groups.
March 15 - Final day to register online for minor, major, and junior softball and baseball. REGISTRATION CLOSES AFTER THIS DATE.
March 21 – Player draft for minor, major, and junior softball and baseball (Details below).
March 29 - Final day to register online for tee-ball and transitional (coach pitch) softball and baseball. REGISTRATION CLOSES AFTER THIS DATE.
Early April – Practice begins for all divisions.
May 2 – OPENING DAY! First game for most teams (some teams may play games before this date).
Late June – Season ends.

Answers to a few common questions:
Q. What day does tee ball play?
A. Tee ball will play games one day per week. Tee ball teams will practice on Saturday afternoons.

Q. Can a player play outside of his/her normal age division?
A. In most cases, yes. There are a few strict Little League rules that we must follow but normally we can accommodate requests. You will need to register in person (not online) in order to do this. This will also give us a chance to discuss your specific situation to ensure we make the best decision for the player.

Q. What days are games and practices?
A. Schedules are developed in late March when we know exactly how many teams we’ll have. Most teams will play two games per week. Games are normally on weekdays (except for May 2, opening day). Practices for all teams are scheduled throughout the week and on weekends. Generally, we try to keep our fields busy every day.

Q. Are all games at Lincoln?
A. For Tee Ball and Transitional Baseball, YES. All other divisions (including softball) interleague with other local leagues (Milan, Ypsi American, Ypsi National, Dexter, Belleville, etc.) so some games will be at their fields.

Q. Can I coach my kid’s team?
A. YES!!! Coaches are almost always needed. Just let us know that you’re interested when you register.

Q. I don’t want to coach but am interested in helping out. Do you need volunteers?
A. YES!!! Every one of us, including the board members, are volunteers. It takes a lot of work to make it all happen. Just let a league official know that you want to help out. Have a question? Send a message to LincolnLLBS@gmail.com.

NEW AGE RULE FOR BASEBALL IN 2015

This applies to tee ball and baseball players only. This does not apply to softball players.

This year Little League is enacting a rule change for baseball. This change will generally affect baseball players that are 9 and younger.

Here is more info regarding the change. http://www.littleleague.org/learn/rules/rulechanges.htm Click on the link and NOTE THE AGE CHART. This will be used to determine a players age for 2015. There are additional links at the bottom of the page that will provide even more info.

How we are handling the new rule...

The result of this change is that many of the younger baseball players in our league will be skipping a year in age. As a chartered Little League we will be following these rules but we do have the freedom to do what's best for the kids. As always, we prefer that each player plays two years at each level of our program.

Example: A player born in August 2006 will be 9 this year per the new Little League rule even though their actual age will be 8. Normally a 9 yr old plays in our minors division, however, we will give this player the option to play a second year in transitional baseball (7 and 8 yr olds) if that is the appropriate division for them. Likewise for younger kids that prefer an extra year of tee ball prior to moving to transitional baseball.

In summary, a player that suddenly skips an age in Little League's rules does not have to skip a year in our program. We will do our best to place kids in the division that best fits their ability and comfort level, regardless of age. This means that when registering some kids will have an option between two divisions. We can assist you in determining the best choice for the player. If you have any questions about the new rule and what it means to your player please let me know.

DRIVEWAY RULES REMINDER!!!

Be aware that the driveway from the Middle School parking lot back to the Cloverleaf fields is RESTRICTED!!!  Use of the driveway and back parking area is a privilege reserved only for cars carrying team equipment or supplies for the concession stand.  Exceptions will be made for cars with handicapped spectators. These cars are permitted to drive back VERY SLOWLY, stop in the area near the fields to drop off equipment or passengers, then proceed to the back parking lot.  Do not turn around on the concrete pad!!!

People attending games/practices at the fields behind Brick Elementary are NOT PERMITTED to use the driveway or the back parking lot.

Safety is a major concern with the driveway and abuse of the rules will not be tolerated!  Lincoln Little League is not responsible for any loss or damage to person or property under any circumstances where these rules are violated.

THE BACK PARKING LOT BEHIND THE CLOVERLEAF FIELDS IS RESERVED FOR COACHES, UMPIRES, AND LEAGUE OFFICIALS ONLY.  ALL OTHERS NEED TO PARK IN THE LMS LOT AND WALK!!!

 CONCUSSION AWARENESS and TRAINING

In July 2013 a new law went into effect in Michigan that affects all youth sports organizations.  The sports concussion legislation requires all coaches, employees, volunteers, and other adults involved with a youth athletic activity to complete a concussion awareness on-line training program. The organizing entity must provide educational materials on the signs/symptoms and consequences of concussions to each youth athlete and their parents/guardians and obtain a signed statement acknowledging receipt of the information for the organizing entity to keep on record.
What you need to do...
All league coaches, umpires, board members, and coordinators must complete this Youth Sports Training module:  http://www.nfhslearn.com/electiveDetail.aspx?courseID=38000  It take 30-45 minutes to complete the training.  E-mail the certificate to a league official when completed.  Parents not volunteering with our organization are also encouraged to complete the training.
All parents and players, regardless of age, must complete the concussion info sheet before participating in our league.  http://michigan.gov/documents/mdch/Parentandathleteinfosheet_415328_7.pdf.  Parents with younger children should take the time to read the information to their children.  All completed forms will be retained by LLL and may be submitted to your coach or directly to a league official.
