Libertyville Lady Cats Coaching Staff
Introducing our 2008 / 2009 Coaching Staff: Lead Trainer Maryann Dean 5th Grade Lady Cats Coach: Pat Quenan
Pat was born in Milwaukee, WI and raised in northern Wisconsin town of Shell Lake. Pat played football, basketball and baseball in high school and continues to play competitive basketball and golf. Pat played intramural basketball and baseball in college and was a student manager for the Notre Dame football team his junior and senior year (ask to see his national championship ring!).
Education
Related Experience Pat has served as Assistant Treasurer for Libertyville Girls Softball Association since 2007. He is an IHSA Certified High School Basketball Referee. 5th Grade Lady Cats Coach: Katie Kerrigan
Katie was born and raised in Libertyville. She graduated from LHS in 1998 and played women’s basketball all 4 years, then went on to play hoops at Lake Forest College. Currently, she still shoots around but has become more of a runner than a hoopster.
Currently, Katie is a Libertyville resident and shoe designer with her own label and manufacturing company. She spends a lot of time traveling overseas and to NYC/LA on business. Katie is still well connected to college coaches and coaching staff. She remains interested in coaching and has many friends who are coaches at the high school and college level. 6th Grade Lady Cats Coach: Greg Sloan
Greg was born in California and raised in Wilmette, IL. He is married to Lora and has three daughters. Greg is the owner of Sloan's Landscaping & Brick Paving in Libertyville. Ø 2005 - Present, Head Coach, 6th Grade Lady Cats Ø 2004 - 2005 Assistant Coach, 8th Grade Lady Cats Ø 2002 - 2004 Assistant Coach, 6th Grade Lady Cats Ø 2001 - 2003 Head Coach, 4th and 5th Grade (Libertyville Park District) Ø 1988 - 1990 Head Coach for Wilmette Park District Basketball Greg has also been involved in coaching both soccer and softball. 7th Grade Lady Cats Coach: Lisa Matthew Lisa grew up in Spring Grove, attending Grant High School where she was All Conference in Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball. She was also a two-time All County softball player. She attended the College of Lake County where she played Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball. At CLC she received All Region honors. Lisa went on to play softball at the University of West Florida where she was an All District player and set a school record fielding percentage of .961 in 112 games! Lisa has been married for 20 years and lives in Libertyville with her family.
Education
Related Experience Since college, Lisa has played basketball and volleyball on various competitive teams. She played USSSA and NSA softball, winning national championships. Lisa ended her softball career playing level A in 2007 so she could spend more time coaching her son’s and daughter’s summer teams. 8th Grade Lady Cats Coach: Mary Kovatch
Mary was born and raised in Libertyville and is married to Matt and has three children Mary lettered in three sports while attending Libertyville High School. She was a 4-year varsity starting guard/forward for the LHS girl's basketball team where she scored over 1,000 points in her career. Her team went to the IHSA super sectional her junior and senior year. She was also a varsity athlete in volleyball and softball.

Maryann grew up in Euclid, Ohio and is the youngest of seven kids.She has been married for over five years and has two wonderful children. Her youngest was born just in time for the start of the 2008 Lady Cats season. Maryann has been in the fitness field for over 8 years. She started playing basketball in the 6th grade. She was a four year 1st team All-American athlete in high school and led her team to back-to-back state championships EducationTrinity International University; Bachelor in Athletic Training with a Coaching minor Ø 4-year Athletic Scholarship Ø Played basketball all four years
Related Experience Maryann has led several basketball camps, including Bulls camps. She has a passion for changing people's lives and developing athletes. She is excited to take on the role of lead trainer for the Lady Cats program. |
