LOWELL AREA SELECT SOCCER ORGANIZATION

MISSION:
LASSO Soccer is an organization of select soccer players and parents, based in Lowell and open to surrounding areas, with the goal of fielding competitive teams and developing players to their highest potential.

Sunday, December 6

Halloween night several LASSO ZOMBIES were spotted roaming the streets of Downtown Lowell. These ZOMBIES were wearing ancient LASSO uniforms from a team that played many years ago. The story is that these players and a ref died while playing the sport they loved. The causes of death  included  a player who scored the game wining goal against Alliance and the team tackled her and she died. Another player was running down the field with a sucker in her mouth  (she always had a sucker in her mouth) and she was tripped by a Crew player and choked and died.  Another girl was a goalie and stopped a 90 mile per hour shot from a USA player with her head and was killed (she saved the goal and her team won). The ref was smothered by angry PASS  soccer moms after she awarded a LASSO player a PK that ended up being the game wining goal.

Sunday, October 11

The annual Lasso Night with the Griffins will be on Friday January 22 2010. Last year we had a great turn out!  This night is dollar dogs, dollar beers and free Bobblehead night. Lower bowl tickets will be available at a discounted price of $14. Get your tickets early so that your family does not miss out on the fun! Tickets will be available at the concession stand durring the Chili Fest on Saturday Oct. 24 or contact any board member to book your tickets.

Tuesday, September 15

Support your LASSO Club by wearing your game jersey to school on Fridays! Lets have some fun and promote our Soccer Club. Remember to pack both color jerseys for game days.

Sunday, September 6

Tryouts for the Spring 2010 season wil be held on Saturday November 7 at Township (Grand River) Park at 10 am.   Players ages 7 through 16 are welcome to tryout.  Current LASSO players registered on 2009 fall teams that are interested in playing in the spring are not required to tryout again.

Players should bring a ball and water bottle.

LASSO Juniors kicked off the first day of a 4 day camp with a bang on Friday.  Close to 40 kids ages 5,6,7 and 8 showed up to participate in the first ever  LASSO Juniors Camp! LASSO Coaches will put the kids through skills training focused on dribbling, passing and shooting. Click here for first day photos.

LASSO Players graduated from thier week long Chicago Fire MLS Camp on Friday 8-14.  Campers enoyed the week long camp working with 2 MLS player develpment coaches. These coaches from England put the kids through extensive drills and training designed to improve thier ball handling, passing and shooting skills.  The Campers had a great time and are already looking forward to next years camp!

Friday, June 26

U9 to U14 teams must have their uniform  order place through the Team Gazelle web site.  Go to www.Gazellesports.com and click on the green Shop club uniform catalogues and fan wear bar (toward the bottom of the paage). Click on the LASSO Logo. This will direct you to all of the catalog team codes. Copy your team's code exactly as it is listed (it is case sensitive). Follow the links to place your uniform order. Uniforms will be shipped directly to your  home.

Lasso player fees for Fall 2009 and Spring 2010 due at registration 6/25/09:

U9 and U10 Teams - $300 both fall and spring sessions, $175 one session

U11 - u14  Teams -   $350 both fall and spring sessions,  $200 one session

U15 & up Teams - $190

There is a 5% discount for each child after the first.

Fees increase by $25  for any payments made after registration night 6/25/09 .

Each new player  will be required to purchase a new uniform consisting of 2 jerseys, 1 shorts and 1 pair of socks. The cost of the uniform will be $82.25 + tax for Adult sizes and $75.25 + tax for Youth sizes. The  current uniform style will be good for Spring 2009, Fall 2009 and Spring 2010.

Scholarships and easy payment plans are available.

Lasso thanks the Lowell Meijer and store manager Joe Vanhoven for donating $2,000 towards the cost of new uniforms for the Spring Season! Watch this site for further information.
