Coach White is honored at the 2006 Georgia Coaches Clinic
Lanier County head coach, John White was honored by the Georiga Dugout Club in Atlanta, GA last Friday at the 2006 state coaches clinic. Coach White was recognized for winning his 300th varsity win along with receiving a plaque for his accomplishments. Coach White won his 300th game, back on April 5th, 2005 against Clinch County in a key region game that put his Bulldogs in the middle of the 2005 playoff race. Coach White and staff will look to continue the success that was sparked last year, as his 2005 team went twenty-two and nine, and reached the third round of the state playoffs. Coach White began his coaching debut back in 1986 at his alma mater, Lanier County. He led the Bulldogs to a 68-25 mark in his first four years as a head coach and since then holds a 314-136 career head coaching record. "I am quick to credit players such as: Alex Lee, Dwight Boone, Patches Phillips, Grafton Kent, Chris Studstill, Ashley Cooper and many others for making my job so easy at times! If it wasn't for the outstanding people like former Lanier County superintendent, Raymond Moore, and former coaches: Ralph Berryhill, Quinn Moore and Jimmy Benefield, I would not of had the oppurtunity to reach this plateau in my in career." Stated, Coach White.
