Lanier County rolls over Portal in the First Round
The number ten ranked Bulldogs (19-7) travelled to Portal and swept the Portal High Panthers, 16-0 and 3-0 in the first round of the State Playoffs. In game one, Freshmen Nathan Bass (6-0) threw a one hitter allowing just two base runners as the Bulldogs pounded out 14 hits. At the plate, Ethan Mcrae was 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, Ryan Allen was 2 for 2, Ryan White was 2 for 4 and BJ Lucky was 3 for 4. In game two, Ryan Allen threw a complete game three hitter allowing just three singles, 8 strikeouts, and 1 walk as he outdueled stud Evan Parrish who threw in the upper 80's. Ryan White came up big for Lanier, driving in three runs. One in the 3rd and two in the 5th. BJ Lucky was 1 for 1 with two walks, Nathan Bass was 2 for 2. It was a great team effort today as we all played well in each area of the game.
