Lanier High Baseball: Summer Ball

Week 3 was a stepping point for the Dawgs finishing the week with a 6-1 record and winning the Charlton tournament with a 5-0 mark. The bulldogs used solid plate discipline, pitching and defense to find their success.

The summer season is not over. The Bulldogs still have some traveling to do playing 11 scheduled games as well as being a host site in the Lowndes High School Tournament June 26-27. The Bulldogs will have their last big trip at the end of this week as they head to Coach Hirst's former school in Bradenton, Florida where they will play a 3 game series.

Loganville Summer Tournament - Memorial Day Weekend 2009

The young Bulldogs ventured out into their summer journey traveling to the Atlanta area and facing off against North Oconee, George Walton Academy, South Gwinnett, and Loganville.  Lanier was able to gain some valuable experience by battling tough the first day tying both games due to the 2 hour time limits.  Day 2 the Bulldogs pulled off a last inning rally and beating South Gwinnett 5-4 and then running out of steam against Loganville.  It was a great experience for all of our staff, parents, and most of all players who also got to experience going to an Atlanta Braves game Saturday night.
