LYA  is a non-profit organization.  It’s purpose is to teach the importance  of education,  good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and respect for others through athletics.

 4.  What is your refund policy?

There are no refunds once teams are formed.

5.  Can I see how the money is being spent by LYA?

Lakeview  Youth Association is an “Association”.   We are all members!  We want to provide the best possible sports experience for our players, that is our goal.  All money collected is used to achieve this goal.  The treasurer keeps a detailed record of money collected and spent through the year and provides statements accordingly.   Members are encouraged to contact Karen Barrett at (269) 660-1665 to discuss any concerns or answer any questions.

5.  What is my responsibility as a parent, player or coach?

Membership means responsibility.  We are all responsible for making this association better for our children.  This can be accomplished by volunteering our time, talent, or money. Good sportsmanship is  required of every one:  players, parents and coaches!  Please be a good role model.  LYA has a three strikes policy to deal with those who refuse to behave appropriately.

6.  What about uniforms?

LYA  provides all of the equipment needed to play with the exception of cleats or basketball shoes.  All uniforms need to be returned washed and clean at the end of the season.  To prolong the life of the uniforms please do not dry them in the dryer.

7.  What happens if I don't return all of the equipment?

If a player fails to return in equipment they will not be allowed to participate in any future LYA functions including awards ceremonies.

8.  Can I bring my pet with me when I come to watch my son?

Pets are not allowed at any LYA event.  No exceptions!

 9.  What is the Lock-in?

The lock-in is LYA football's end of year party for the players and coaches.  The boys spend the night at the Jr High Scool playing dodgeball, basketball, football drills, movies, pizza etc.

10.  Why don't we play at the high school?

There are several reasons.  The first being that we are seperate from the school district.  Secondly with Jr High games and High School games being played, five additional LYA games would create a problem for the field.

11.  Why doesn't the scoreboard display yardage and downs?

Most fields in the league do not display this information. Downs are displayed with the chain gang.

12.  How do I enquire about coaching?
Please contact Scott Waltman @ 965-8105 or Craig Barrett @ 660-1665.

13.  How do you promote education?

LYA will acknowledge those students who achieve good grades by posting their names congratulating them via the newsletter and website.  Contact Roger Cruise and Rene Underwood if your child is eligible.

14.  I really liked my coaches this year can we give gifts at the awards ceremony.?

LYA discourages giving gifts to coaches.  Parents give enough through out the year with time, money, and support.  Coaches volunteer their time because of their love of the game and their commitment to helping players.
