CHECK BACK SOON FOR PHOTOS AND A PERSONAL PROFILE OF EACH OF OUR PLAYERS AT THE LAKELAND TABLE TENNIS CLUB.
THANKS FOR VISITING OUR WEBSITE!!!
WENDELL NEWTON
Wendell "Bad Pips" Newton is an active member of the Lakeland Table Tennis. He has been our tournament director for 2002-03 and is our acting table tennis coach. You can e-mail him at badpips@cs.com
BLAIR RICHARDS
Blair has been playing pong for years. He once attended a special table tennis camp in Anderson, S.C. under the direction of Richard McAfee. He uses pips on one side of his paddle, so watch out.
EBRAHIM ALY
Ebrahim started playing table tennis when he was 15. He lived in Egypt for a while and also in Port Charlotte, FL. He now makes his home in central Florida and has been improving his game in the last year. If you play him, watch out for those hard smashes!
DAVID SILVERMAN
David is a native of Miami, FL. He started playing table tennis when he was in school, but only in the last two years has he played on a competitive level. David played tennis and soccer in high school and was the high school scoring champion in soccer. He played briefly with the Chicago Sting on the professional soccer level. David lives on the east coast of Florida and visits our club when he is in the area.
CHARLES KACIREK
Charles is a native of the Czech Republic. He lived in Italy for a year and then moved to West Virginia, California and then to Africa for seven years. He has played table tennis almost all over the world. He now makes his home in central Florida and is a breeder and grower of rare tropical fish. Charles is working hard to improve his game. We hope he stays put and calls Florida his home from now on!
GARTH JORDAN
Garth is a native of Guyana. He started playing table tennis when he was ten years old. He enjoys playing table tennis for the exercise and the friendship. We are glad he has landed in the Tampa area.
SIMON CHANG
Simon is a really dedicated table tennis player. He plays at several clubs in the central Florida area. We are glad he comes to our club on Sunday. He is using a pips-out approach on both sides of his racquet, so watch out!
FRANK BUCKMASTER
Frank is from merry-old England. He has been playing table tennis for 14 years. Frank uses a defensive strategy and uses a hard-bat. He is tough to beat if you are easily frustrated with your opponent returning everything you put across the net!
FRED HAUTSCH
 | | | Hautsch with trademark bandana | |
Fred is one of our top-rated players. It wouldn't surprise anyone to see him reach the 2000 rating mark. His quick powerful strokes and flat-hitting smashes makes him a force to be reckoned with and very difficult to beat.
STEVE CARLSON

Steve has a great loop and a very tricky serve. If you catch him when he's on, watch out! Steve gives 100% when he's playing a match. We are glad to see him on the days he can attend.
ZOLI RETEY
Zoli enjoys practice, hitting, smashing, and chopping. He will pull out his Hock bat with blue British Leyland rubber and challenge you to get one past him, or he will reach and get his anti-spin paddle and mystify you with his returns and quick offensive blasts. Be ready for a rough flight!
PAUL TELESCO
Paul is one of the original founders of table tennis in the Lakeland area. He is proud of his efforts and so are all of us at our club. He is originally from Stanford, CT, but has been in Lakeland since 1970. He started playing table tennis when he was 10 years old. Paul enjoys the sport as a great workout-both physical and mental, with as much thought behind each shot as technique. Paul also enjoys classic cars, dogs, travel and really good eats. He has his own woodworking workshop, but never enough time for everything. We are glad to have him as a member of our club!
DAN SWEENEY
Dan and his son, Brian, are interested in improving their game. Dan has a chance to play some during his lunchtime at work and is working hard with our coach during every practice session. We appreciate all our players who are striving to improve.
BRIAN SWEENEY
Brian is our youngest member and is working hard with our coach to improve his game. He is making great progress with the support of the other players and his father, who is also a member.
CHI-KIN CHAN
Chi is one of our top-rated players. He enjoys playing in our local tournaments and is very difficult to defeat.
