The Lady Warriors Semi-Pro Cheer & Dance Team is a volunteer program and the OFFICIAL Cheer & Dance team for the Warriors Semi-Professional Football organization (one of 33 teams in the New England Football League). Although football is the reason for its existence, the Lady Warriors program has set goals that would benefit others.
· Support Community programs that provide services to those in need.
· Provide positive leadership within the community and act as a role model for all children.
· Provide young women the opportunity to participate in a team structured organization
There are two main focuses to the team. The first priority is to perform at the Western Mass Warriors "AA" football games, based out of Holyoke, MA. In addition to performing at the games, the squad volunteers throughout the community and partakes in team appearances, fundraisers and charity events:
- Ray's of Hope ( Breast Cancer Walk)
- D.A.R.E. Youth Cheerleading Camp
- Special Olympics (Summer Games Opening Ceremony)
- East Longmeadow 4th of July Parade
Semi-Professional cheerleading is a cross between the adult recreational type leagues and the professional level leagues. Those involved have generally played the sport in college. If the players do not have college experience, they were generally the best in the area in high school. The Lady Warriors Cheer & Dance team encourages all ladies 18 & over to join. The Lady Warriors Semi-Pro Cheer & Dance team members are from all parts of Western Mass & Connecticut.
