Walters earned second-team all-district honors her first three seasons at Warhill High and was named Team MVP her sophomore year. She hit a combined .445 and had a .985 fielding percentage during her first three seasons and also hit .400 for her travel team, VA Lady Pilots, last summer. Walters, a right-handed hitter capable of hitting as a left-handed slapper, was accepted into the Honors College at NSU.

“Malinka is a great all-around student-athlete,” said Norfolk State Head Coach Heidi Cavallo. “We brought her in to play the middle infield, and she will be an excellent addition to our lineup with her speed on the base paths. “She is also a very vocal leader on the field. We are looking for her to come in right away and compete with our current middle infield [junior Gipsy Ramirez, freshmen Alina Moriarty and Whittni Gray] for a starting spot next year.” The Lady Pilots want to wish Malinka best wishes and success in all her endeavors and we will be right there with her to watch all of her success in her college career.
