VIDEO OF THE WEEK
Movie Camera
Here's a LONG video clip (about 45 sec) from the varsity game against Riverside showing the third goal of the evening.  Great team effort - defensive pressure keeps the ball in the Riverside half, there is some nice passing, and a nice finish with a goal!

To view the video, click on the Riverside Video icon below.  Note that this is a BIG file (12 mb), and it takes about 4 minutes to download using cable - which means even longer with DSL or dial up.

NEED HELP ON SATURDAY
Raking
We are looking for a few volunteers to help clear brush, trim trees, etc. around the varsity and JV fields on Saturday after the games. Some tree branches are hanging down near the field that need to be trimmed, and some of the girls are getting poison ivy getting soccer balls that end up behind the nets. Bring rakes, weed-wackers, GLOVES, etc., or just show up ready to work. It should only take about 1 hour if we get enough help. Thanks for your support!

RAFFLE TICKETS
moneybag
Raffle tickets will be handed out to each family on September 13 at the parents meeting.  We are joining with the Holy Cross football team, as well as many other HC sports teams, in this annual, very successful, raffle.  The Grand Prize is a 7 day trip for two to Hawaii to see the NFL Pro Bowl.  The prize includes roundtrip airfare, hotel, and transfers.  The tickets are $5 each.  The drawing will be held at halftime of the Holy Cross - Willingboro football game on October 29th.

We sent 10 tickets to each family, and are asking each family to sell a minimum of 5 tickets.  Of course the more we all sell, the more profit we make and the more we can do for the teams.  More tickets are available for those who want them - just ask any of the Club officers (see the Contacts Folder).  Please return all money and ticket stubs to Fred Hinkelmon.

Thanks for your continued support of the girls soccer program!

SCOREBOARD PROBLEM
Exclaim
There is a problem with the scoreboard on the varsity soccer field – the clock works, but the scores don’t light up. We don’t think it is the lightbulbs, but a problem with the control box or wiring. We are looking for any volunteers who are electricians or handy with electrical work that can help us fix the scoreboard before the season starts or gets too far along.

If you can help out, please contact Coach Sgroi (see the Contacts Folder) or email Michael Morris ASAP. Thanks for any help.

2005 INDOOR LEAGUE SOCCER
snowflake
After a great 2004 season (13-6-1, 5 of 6 losses by 1 goal, beat #1 ranked team 3-1 on the way to becoming the runner-up champions in the South Jersey Parochial A Championship), the Lady Lancers are already gearing up for the 2005 season. Two teams, a Varsity/JV team and a Freshmen Players team played in a High School indoor soccer league between January and April at the International Sports Centre in Cherry Hill. The Varsity team finished the indoor season with a record of 5-2-2, scoring 36 goals and allowing 16. The only losses came to club teams, one of which plays in MAPS. The Freshmen team was 7-2, with 38 goals scored and 19 allowed. These are the best indoor records for Holy Cross teams in the past 5 or 6 years or so - omens of great things to come! Thanks go out to Mr. Dennis Murawski and Mr. Fred Hinkelmon for coaching the 2005 indoor teams.
