LYSA
LYSA, or the Loudonville Youth Soccer Association, began initially as a partnership between a dedicated group of local parents and the Ashland YMCA for the purpose of developing a youth soccer program in Loudonville. The first soccer season organized by this group was during the Fall of 1996. Our first official season as a member organization of OYSAN was in the Fall of 1999.
During the Winter of 1998-1999, a decision was made to look toward the future and change the organizational structure of our program. This was done so that our local group could affiliate with United States Youth Soccer and its Regional affiliate, Ohio Youth Soccer Association North (OYSAN). This change resulted in more local control of our program and reduced cost per player. As an added benefit our local players receive a soccer newspaper, published quarterly by OYSAN. The newspaper provides news and information about additional training and skills development opportunities for our players, local and regional tournaments, and other news of interest to both parents and coaches. Associating with OYSAN has also allowed us to expand the scope of our program and develop a pool of local certified officials.
LYSA, while primarily engaged with the operation of a recreational level youth soccer league, is also providing suppport for our young High School soccer program. As our High School program matures and our local commmunity makes a greater commitment to the support of soccer play at the youth and high school levels, we hope to faciliate and provide support for the establishment of competitive level (travel)teams at all age levels, where appropriate interest is shown.
LYSA is a 501(C)(3) tax exempt organization, and contributions to LYSA are tax deductible. For a copy of the IRS tax exempt ruling (if needed to support a tax deductible contribution claimed on a return), email your request to LYSA@lysasoccer.us. (3/8/01)
