LWAA: LWAA NEWS!
Sunday, August 9FALL BASEBALL 2009--REGISTER NOW THRU SEPTEMBER 4!
The Lake Wylie Athletic Association Little League is pleased to announce its Fall Instructional and Developmental Baseball Program for 2009. We are offering a non-competitive instructional season that will actually be a series of clinics approximately two hours in length run by some of the LWAA’s best and most motivated coaches! We feel that this type of program represents the best way for the young baseball players of our area to learn and practice basic baseball skills and strategies so that they are prepared to play at a high level next Spring. Some specifics:
- Open to all area youth league age* 5-14.
- Non-competitive.
- No draft.
- No formalized teams.
- No uniforms.
- 10 consecutive Sunday afternoons, September 13 through November 15, from 4:00pm-6:00 pm so as to avoid conflicts with the LWAA’s Fall Sports.
- Sessions will be comprised of:
- Little League sanctioned drills designed to teach and develop specific skills.
- Live game situational practice to teach “game strategy” to the players and also be a lot of FUN!
- NEW!! A special emphasis on teaching youngsters how to pitch and on developing and preparing pitchers for our spring program.
We want to stress that although this program is open to all children league age* 5-14 residing within the LWAA boundary area, it is designed and geared toward the player who sincerely desires to learn and develop baseball skills. It is the goal of the LWAALL to build a program that produces baseball players and teams that compete with the best in South Carolina and the Southeast Region of Little League Baseball. Coaches and players will be focused on developing players as we work toward that goal. If you and your son/daughter is interested in being a part of that, then NOW is the time to join us!
· “League Age” is defined as a player’s age on April 30, 2009. The fall season is simply an extension of our Spring season just completed.REGISTER NOW!

2009 Registration News
For 2009 we are offering online registration for all players. We will also have several in person opportunities to register.
All registrants ages 6 through 12, who want to play at the Coach Pitch level or higher, MUST attend one of three try outs. The dates and times are now posted on our calendar. Players who do not attend a try out will either be placed on a T Ball team, or if too old, be removed from our rolls. No player will be placed on a competitive team if they do not try out.
Registration ends for players 5 through 12 February 14th, which is also the last tryout date. If you register on that date, you must attend that try out.
We will not accept late registrations, nor will we have a waiting list.
Players League age 13 and up may continue to register until April 18th. The Junior and Senior league seasons start later. No league 12 year olds will be placed on a Junior team.
No refunds will be issued after our first practice date- February 23, 2009. After that, refunds will only be made because of medical reasons, or if you move from the LWAA boundaries. Documentation of such reasons will be required.
Our league boundaries include all of York County with the only exception being the towns of Fort Mill and Tega Cay. All players within our boundaries must play for us. No players from within our boundaries are permitted to play in Steele Creek or Tega Cay.
