Welcome to the La Verne Girls Softball Association website!

La Verne Girls Softball Association (LVGSA) is a youth fastpitch softball league dedicated to providing a fun, positive, and competitive atmosphere for all our players and their families. Whether advanced or beginning, all players are encouraged to join LVGSA for a great softball experience! LVGSA is sanctioned by the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) and will provide numerous opportunities for players to enhance their softball skills. As members of an ASA sanctioned league, LVGSA players will have the opportunity to participate in any number of tournaments, compete at a higher level, or play specifically for recreation. ASA is the National governing body for United States Softball. "Foremost, the ASA Junior Olympic Youth program is about kids - it's about creating a positive environment where they can grow and develop, and learn a sport they can enjoy for a lifetime. Most importantly, it's about making sure they come away from their softball experience feeling confident about themselves and who they are." We welcome players from all our local communities to join our league. We offer divisions for girls 5-16 years old. Check our website often for news and upcoming events.

To All LVGSA Parents
LVGSA Parents,
At the end of the 2008 Season, your current LVGSA Board, discovered that our past Treasurer, Christine Lopez, was possibly involved in the misuse of League Funds. Christine and her husband Nick, who was LVGSA’s past Vice President and Player Agent, were both suspended pending an investigation into the matter. The Board immediately started to gather as much information as possible. As the investigation continued the Board felt it necessary to provide all this information to the La Verne Police Department.
As a result of La Verne Police Department’s Preliminary Investigation, Christine Lopez was arrested on Jan 8, 2009 for Embezzlement.
This case is still under investigation therefore details cannot be provided at this time. If anyone has any questions or concerns please contact me at (951)212-8158. I will make myself available to meet with each and every parent/team that wishes to discuss this matter further. I will also continue to provide you with information as it becomes available to us.
This has been an extremely difficult and trying time for all of us involved. I do want you to know that La Verne Girls Softball Association is doing well and continues to improve each day. I thank you for the many emails and phone calls of support that you have given to me and the Board. I am confident that we will continue to provide your children with the best softball experience.
Thank you,
SteveCarrillo

*LVGSA Policy regarding helmets and facemasks:
As a member of the American Softball Association (ASA), LVGSA is following ASA recommendations regarding helmets and facemasks. All batting helmets and catching helmets must have the NOCSAE stamp on them, certifying that they comply with the latest safety regulations. This stamp is generally near one of the ear holes or on the back of the helmet. In addition, all facemasks must also be NOCSAE certified. For batting helmet facemasks, the certification is written on the inside of the facemask. For catcher's facemasks, if the helmet is made with the facemask already on it the NOCSAE certification on the helmet refers to both the helmet and the mask. Most helmets made in the last year or so are certified. Check your helmet carefully, as the symbol may be hard to see. NOCSAE certified facemasks should fit on the older NOCSAE certified helmets. Putting a NOCSAE certified facemask on an uncertified helmet will not make the helmet legal. The NOCSAE symbol on the helmet is a small rectangle with rounded edges showing the profile of a batting or catching helmet. The words "Meets NOCSAE Standard" are printed inside the rectangle. On certified facemasks, the same words are printed on the inside of one of the bars.
