KONNEXION WINS EARLY MORNING CHAMPIONSHIP AT AFA FALL FESTIVAL
What a great weekend we had in Mesquite!!!! The bats were alive... the defense was absolutely rock solid... and the pitchers were firing some heat!!! It was truly a "team effort" in winning the AFA Fall Festival as each and every player contributed and did thier job when called upon.
Great job ladies!!! Great job coaches!!! and can't forget the supportive fans... woo woo
Our final record for the weekend was 7 wins and 1 loss... we always seem to have that ONE FREAKN BAD GAME... this time our loss came to a very worthy Rage team... can't take them lightly cuz they'll bring it to ya!
With that loss, we were now in the losers bracket and had to go to work to match up with Rage again in the ship. We faced the Utah Twisters and came up with a good win. It was on to the championship game with Rage... knowing that we had to beat them twice to take it. Although the girls had already played four games that day and it was getting late into the night, the Las Vegas 808 Konnexion was able to power through to win the next two to take the championship! Bravo girls... way to work hard and get it done!!!
All in all...
7 - 1 record with four shutouts
scored 41 runs and allowed only 7 in eight games

Summer Send-off... LV 808 Konnexion wins championship!!!
It was a fun weekend for all at the Summer Send-off in St. George, Utah. The temps outside were hot, but the 808 bats and defense were hotter!!!
The girls had us all a bit nervous after the first pool play game, but were able ~to get thier acts together~ for the rest of the tourney!!!
The 808 defense was nearly flawless... only allowing three runs to score in six games. Lacey & Berlin were an amazing pitching duo with shutouts in four of the six games. Thanks to smokin' hot bats all the way through the lineup, the Konnexion girls were able to display their outstanding base running skills and put 30 runs in the book! Pretty impressive ladies!
Great job 808 players and coaches... another championship trophy for Alani's shelf!!! That never gets old!!!! Thanks to all of our 808 supporters.... our ohana... your support is simply awesome!!!
Thanks again to Berlin and her family for joining us for the tourney... it was a pleasure!

AFA FALLAPALLOOZA
After taking a little break to recover from the exhausting summer championship season, the 808 headed to Cali to compete in the 2008 AFA Fallapallooza. Although the girls didn't come home with the championship, they did perform like champions with six wins and one untimely loss. The long weekend, however, truly WAS a success considering that the 808 scored a total of 54 runs and allowed only five runs to cross the plate in seven games. Bravo ladies... bravo!

808 girls head to Oregon for the 2008 Western Nationals
The Las Vegas 808 Konnexion was one of 99 teams to attend the 2008 ASA Western National in Portland, Oregon. We didn't finish as high as we would have liked, but were among the top one-third no doubt (4 wins/2 losses). The team that sent 808 to the loser's bracket (with a tight 3-2 ballgame) ended up winning the championship. We can play with the best of them girls... a National Championship is not out of reach!!!! Although we didn't come home with the bling-bling, we did come home stronger, more determined, and with a team unity second to none. You are an amazing group of talented young ladies and together you have the power to do great things! Keep up the great work... we are all so proud!!!

808 CHAMPIONS TWO YEARS IN A ROW... VALENTINE'S DAY BLAST 2008
The 808 girls were victorious once again at the 2008 Valentine's Day Blast with a record of 5-0-1.
They shut out three of their opponents and scored 62 runs while only allowing 13.
The championship game resulted in a hard-fought 9 - 6 win over the 2007 16A Western National Champions.... ARK Oregon Legacy.

ASA Western Nationals in Phoenix
The 808 girls took second in their pool at ASA Western Nats in Phoenix and went on to a 3-3 record against some of the best competition in the country. This 66 team tournament had no weaklings. Every game was close and 808 held their own.
Playing with 11 players and without two of their biggest bats, 808 was in every game until the end. The girls played great and had a good time in their down time, even though the heat and humidity was at times almost unbearable.
(Coaches)Alani, Steve and Greg 85-31-2 to end the first year, not bad. We are all looking forward to year number two.

TCS Park City
808 Girls go 5-3 at TCS Park City
808 had a successful week in Park City going 5-3 and making the Championship Bracket at TCS Nationals (TIE 17TH). Unfortunately, the normally potent offense of the 808 girls was a bit cold all week. Even though the bats were cool the gloves were hot. The defense played solid.
The 808 girls recorded the fastest time in the "around the horn" quickest infield competition at the skills contest on Monday. No one beat 808's time of 6.43 seconds. Way to go girls!!!
808 will now travel to the ASA Western Nationals in Phoenix on July 30 for tournament play through August 4. This will wrap up the Spring '07 season and our first year as a team.
Hats off to the coaching staff (Alani, Steve and Greg) and the players of LV 808 for the great job they have done in their inaugural year.

We are the Champions.... the JO CLASSIC CHAMPIONS
With a field of 28 quality teams, the girls of 808 went 7 - 1 to take the championship at the 2007 JO Classic tourney in Las Vegas. The bats were hot hot hot as Konnexion put up 67 runs for the weekend. Not to go unmentioned... the 808 D allowed only 12 runs to score in eight games with three shutouts in the book!!! Quite impressive players and coaches.... job well done!!!! Nevada State Championships here we come............

We love our 808 girls and are so proud of every one of them even though they seem to enjoy testing all of our (parents/fans) blood pressure limits now and then.

2007 Valentine's Day Blast

The 808 girls rolled to a 6 - 1 record to take the
CHAMPIONSHIP this past weekend in the
Valentine's Day Blast in Las Vegas.
The bats were SMOKIN' HOT...
808 Konnexion put 56 runs on the board
with their stellar "D" allowing only 17.
With this championship finish, the 808 girls
would have qualified once again (#3) for
the TCS World Series in Park City!

808 Ladies tie for 5th at Huntington Beach TCS Classic, earn another TCS berth
The 808 girls started the 2007 Spring season with a 5th place tie in the Huntington Beach Classic over the weekend. 35 quality California teams participated with 808 being the only team from out of state. After a respectable but rough start on Saturday, 808 made a name for themselves on Sunday by sending two top seeds home and picking up a 3-1 record enroute to a tie for the 5 spot. Three of the final four were teams that 808 faced. This tournament was stocked with some of the top talent in California and 808 was just a two-run heartbreaker of a loss away from the final four. Nice work girls! You are capable of hanging with (and beating) the big dogs!!!
