Well, quite a weekend that we had!!! I couldn't be more proud of the swimmers AND divers that we have. In both of the meets, we had great times turned in by any and all and as you know by now, we are the Cobb County Champions for both sides!!!! What an accomplishment!!!!!!!!!!!! Again, after they announced our name for girls and boys 1st place, I simply took in the moment.....to hear all of them screaming and cheering was incredible and once again, the swimmers and divers all amazed me at the pool this weekend.....
OK, Lassiter....we got the title back that someone took from us last year.......Next item on the agenda.....STATE.....The ladies showed me this weekend that they have what it takes to defend the title.....make no mistake, everyone will be coming after Lassiter but that makes for great meets (and pulse rates of head coaches to go up....) and I know that the ladies will bring it to the pool on Feb 12th and 14th. The guys showed me that they will absolutely be a force to reckon with as we enter the state meet and I am thrilled to see that THEY BELIEVE!!!!
A few other things to note....
At the other county meet on Sat, the Lady Trojans finished 3rd and the boys finished 6th (both out of 11 teams) and they all did a wonderful job at this meet.
We will have a team meeting this Wed at 7:45 AM (only two left)....
Dual with Chattahoochee is this Sat with the meet starting at 4:30 pm. I will have more details (including directions) posted about it later this week but some quick things to note-
- NO STATE QUALIFIERS are going to this meet....there is NO need to sign out....I'm not taking any of them.....this is the final meet for anyone who did not get a state time and I think it will be a good one for all of these swimmers for it's a good team to close out with PLUS it's a dual and it will be short.....On the other hand, I assume that all non-state folks will want to swim this since it is their last meet period and they will have to talk to me individually if they cannot make it.
Final note about this one is that if your swimmer is going with us to this dual meet on Sat and has not competed in an event that they really want to, then they need to simply tell me either Mon or Tues....THANKS!!!!
Practice this week ONLY on TUES AND THURS (normal times on these days)...........that will be it for this week......
Final booster club meeting is NEXT Tuesday, Feb. 10th at 7 pm in my room 1209 in the Science Building.....
LHS SWIM & DIVE They are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
