Welcome to the official homepage of the Lake Ridge Lancers Summer Swim Team. We are a member of the Prince William Swim League(PWSL) and we are located in Woodbridge,Va.

Laser Quest
What a blast we had at Laser Quest today!! We had 61 Lancers participate in 4 all-Lancer laser tag events! Parents, your children were superbly behaved!!
If anyone stills owes money for laser tag, please give it to Lancermom under the pavilion tomorrow.
Meet Setup
Tomorrow (Friday) before set-up we will be participating in project at the pool – we will be painting the fence posts and poles along the edge of the parking lot. We just need a few interested parents to help out from 5:00 – 7:00 prior to pool setup. Be sure to wear “paint” clothes!
Don’t forget the Lancer Buddy Cupcake Social (open to all Lancers) from 7:00 – 8:00 (see the attached flyer for details).
Also, beginning at 7:30, we will be setting up the pool for Saturday’s meet. This is the perfect time to bring help us prepare the pool and set up your own tent!
Meet Arrival Time
Arrival time for Saturday’s meet is 6:00 – Remember, you need to be in the water for warm-ups!

Team Picture Day
Team Picture Day will be this Tuesday at 9:00. All Lancers (Lil’ Lancers too!) are included. We will need parental help to get all of the kids lined up as quickly as possible. Because the picture is at 9:00, some of the older kids will need to stay a little later, and some of the younger kids will need to come a little earlier.

Saturday’s Meet
This Saturday we will be swimming against the Kingsbrooke Sea Lions, one of our divisional competitors! While there will be more details coming later in the week, I am putting out a call for pasta salad for our Starting Block Café. Please let me know if you can make a pound or two of pasta salad.
Divisional T-Shirts
Be sure to place your order for a divisional t-shirt. Please use the order form attached to this email. Payment is due at the time the order is placed. All orders must be turned in by July 15th. Cost of the t-shirts is $15. Buy yours now – if I have any extra, they will be $20 the day of divisionals!
Divisional Heat Sheets
Be sure to buy your ad or event for the divisional heat sheet. This is a great way to show team spirit and to encourage your swimmer(s). Please use the order form attached to this email. Payment is due at the time the order is placed. Prices for ads range from $20 to $100. Heat sheet ads are due (in printer ready format or via email) by July 20th. Event orders are due by July 17th. The price to sponsor an event is $5 per event.
Lancer Book
If you know that your child will be unable to attend one of the remaining 3 meets (2 regular season, 1 divisional) you must sign them out in the Lancer Book. It is understandable that swimmers get sick at the last minute, but if this is a planned outage, we need to know ahead of time. The clerk of course spends time trying to find your child, the coaches have to reseed relays, and it generally slows things down during the meets.
If your child gets sick, please email Lancermom ASAP. If your child wakes up ill on Saturday morning, call Lancermom at 703-795-1393 and leave a message.
Meet Volunteers
We are having a difficult time filling all of our volunteer needs. Frankly, this is unacceptable. The Lancers are one of the few teams in the league who have yet to institute mandatory volunteer hours, but if the trend continues, we will have to.
Please make sure to sign up for a shift or two! We have 2 more home meets – these require more Lancer volunteers than away meets.
You may sign up for a shift in the Lancer Volunteer Book which can be found near the coaches table during morning practices. If you cannot find it, that’s because it is being walked around the pool in search of volunteers.
I will be sending out an email telling you all what positions we still need to fill for this week’s meet.
Lancer Buddy Social Event
Don’t forget – this Friday is the Lancer Buddy Social Event. Come on out and decorate (and eat) cupcakes!
Parents – this is not a drop-off event. Please stay and help us set up the pool for Saturday’s meet against Kingsbrooke.

Lancer Banquet
The Lancer Banquet will be held on Sunday, July 26th at the pool. We are currently looking for someone to coordinate the meal. If you would be willing (don’t worry – we will help you!) please contact Lancermom.
Also, please check the Lancer Bulletin Board (next to the boy’s bathroom) for a list of all Lancers. Check your name for proper spelling and initial. This list will be used for awards at our end-of-the-season celebration.

"Kids In Motion" is an indoor facility with 3 moonbounces, a wooden castle, and jungle gym.
The facility will only be available to our small group of 25 kids.
Siblings won’t be able to pay a drop-in fee.
If we don’t fill all 25 slots, we will refer to the waiting list on the sign-up sheet.
(The waiting list is for siblings ages 4-8.)
*FYI -We are not allowed to use our Summer Quest coupons during this group event.*

There will be NO PRACTICE this Friday, July 3rd, due to the holiday weekend. Remember, there is no swim meet this weekend either!

Lost and Found
The Ehlers Family picked up a light blue, girl’s shorts and shirt that was left at the swim meet on Saturday. They are size 10/12. Mrs. Ehlers will bring them to practice on Monday.
Divisional T-Shirts
It’s getting to be that time of the summer when we start to dream about the big divisional swim meet! Starting Monday, we will be taking orders for divisional T-Shirts. These will be blue t-shirts with all 3 team logos. The cost for each shirt is $15. The order form is attached to this email. You must pay for your shirt(s) at the time you place the order. Orders may be given to Mary Leslie or Lori McDonald.
Divisional Heat Sheet Ads
It’s also time to start thinking about our divisional heat sheets. One fun way to show support for your swimmer(s) is by purchasing a heat sheet ad or sponsoring an event.
- Heat sheet ads come in several sizes, ranging from ¼ page ($20) to a full page ($60-100).
- Event sponsorships are an inexpensive ($5) way to cheer on your swimmer.
Order forms for both are attached to this email. Payment must be made at the time the order is placed.
