Welcome to the LPYAA Website

Mission Statement:

  1) The Lake Placid Youth Athletic Association exists to introduce, instruct and

    promote sustained participation in sports to the youth in Lake Placid and

    surrounding communities. They include (to date) soccer, hockey, basketball,

    volleyball, baseball & softball.


Statements of Purpose:

  1) To provide a safe and healthy environment for the youth in our community

      to participate in a variety of sports.

  2) To provide quality coaching which gives all participants the opportunity to

      learn and play.

  3) To promote, to the best of our ability, positive experiences for all children

       participating in our programs by supporting a "kids first, winning second"

      philosophy of competition.

The next LPYAA meeting will be Thurs. SEPT 21ST, 2017 at the Olympic Training Center on Old Military Road starting at 8 pm sharp.

Anyone who has business to bring before the membership must submit the nature of the business to the secretary for inclusion on the meeting agenda. This can be done by emailing Kim Clark at The deadline for agenda items is the second Thursday of each month. If business comes up that does not make the deadline it is either automatically put on the agenda for the following meeting or must be approved for discussion by 3/4 of the members present at the current meeting.

2017-2018 Hockey Registration Information

The first 2 registrations for LPYAA Hockey will be held on Tues Aug. 22nd and Thurs. Aug 31st at the Lake Placid Horse show office from 5:00-6:00 pm.

COMPLETED Registration forms and payments can also be mailed to: LPYAA P.O. Box 129 Lake Placid, NY 12946

Completed paperwork and the registration fee will be needed before we process your application. We will also need a copy of 1st year players birth certificates.

All players must be registered by October 1st, 2017 with the exception of IP and Mite age players. At the IP and Mite levels enrollment will be allowed through Dec. 15th, 201 in an effort to increase the numbers of players. Extenuating circumstances (such as, but not limited to, a family moving into town, an individual wishing to try playing hockey for the first time, etc.) may present itself in which case the Hockey Committee reserves the right to allow a registration after the above mentioned cut-off dates. Any player not registered by their respective cut-off date will be charged a $50 late registration fee 

Please go to the handouts / 2017-2018 hockey sign-up forms section on the LPYAA website, and print/fill out the forms before registration. (We will also have forms available at registration)

Also, go to and register your child. Print out the confirmation (number and bar-code) and bring it with you to registration. (Registration instructions are on the main page and Hockey Information Page of the website)

If you wish to play for the LPYAA and played for another association last year please fill out the NYSAHA Player Release form in the hockey handouts section.We can't accept your application until you are released from your prior association.

If you are interested in being a coach or an assistant coach for the Lake Placid Youth Athletic Association.... The coaching application for the LPYAA 2017-2018 Hockey season is available in the handouts section at .

On the left hand side click on handouts, then downloads. Scroll down to the LPYAA Hockey Coaching application.

There is also a link on the bottom of this page.

Print out the application, fill it out, and mail to: LPYAA Hockey Committee, P.O. Box 129, Lake Placid, NY 12946. Attn: LPYAA Hockey Committee Due date is Aug. 1st.

If accepted as a coach for the LPYAA you will have to register with USA Hockey (before you can get on the ice) and be screened through NYSAHA (if your screening has expired from previous years). You also have to fulfill the NYSAHA Coaching Education Program and Safe Sport requirements.

The Lake Placid Youth Athletic Association is proud to announce the launch of their new website

 Information regarding upcoming seasons, registration & payment can all be done through the new website. Families create a user/profile and enter their children's information once. You can then register and pay online for subsequent seasons. Your profile will stay and registration/payment the following season will simply be a couple of clicks. Please feel free to provide feedback so se can make make improvements.
