Well here it is the beginning of another exciting swim season. Congratulations to all who have signed up this year. Parents, as you know by now the La Porte High school pool is unavailable to Dogfish this season, but we are still looking forward to another outstanding year for all Dogfish swimmers.
Due to the major ongoing renovations at the La Porte High school pool this year, our team will be practicing at the Various Pools throuout the season.Unlike the High school pool, these two pools are not heated, and with the unseasonably cooler weather, practice will initially consist of land-based drills and exercises. Once the weather and pool water warms up, swimmers will begin in-the-water practice.
Additionally, those pools selected are outdoors and in park areas, so it is important for all of us to keep an eye on the children at all times. We need everyone’s help in making sure the children are where they need to be at all times.

Wave Pool was vandalized last weekend and work is still being done to repair and get it back in working order. Please accept our apologies for any inconveniences this has caused in attending practice sessions. We again as a board appreciate your patience and support of the Dogfish Swim Team.
The following will be attending practice at the Brookglen Pool.
8 and under .........5 to 5:30
9 and 10 ............5:30 to 6:15
The following will be attending practice at the Wave Pool.
11 and 12............6 to 7 pm
13 and up ...........7 to 8 pm
We are also looking for parents and/or older sisters and brothers who are certified as a Lifeguard and would like volunteer their skills. Parent volunteers are also needed for stroke and turn judges at each swim meet. It’s okay if you have no idea what a stroke and turn judge does, training classes will soon begin where the proper training will be provided.
