Brief Description: On-Line Registration begins on April 1, 2009. W A R N I N G ! DO NOT REGISTER YOUR CHILD IF HE OR SHE IS NOT A 2008 RETURNING PLAYER. YOU WILL NOT BE REFUNDED BY LPBK! Welcome Returning Blue Knights! We look forward to an exciting 2009 season. Pre-registration for the upcoming season will guarantee your son or daughter a spot on a LPBK football or cheerleading roster. However, pre-registration does not guarantee a spot on a specific team or squad. Please be advised that once your child is registered online, you and your child are required to attend one of our registration completion dates scheduled for June 6 or June 20, 2009, at Milton Somers football field from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. All pre-registered players must attend one of these dates to be fitted/weighed and to have documents signed by a parent.

CHEERLEADING NEWS: Age/grade Verification: Charles County Public Facilities has initiated a new age/grade verification policy for its Recreation Cheerleading Squads. Each parent must register his or her child at the correct age/grade listed for 2009/2010 school year. Parents must also submit his or her child's 2009 4th quarter report card at registration. Due to continued league growth and attendance at county and region-wide competitions adherence to the team age/grade guidelines is paramount. The county age/grade chart can be found on our league website: www.lpbk.com. Be sure to register your child at the appropriate age/grade level. Falsification of age or grade will void the registration and NO refund will be issued.

Cheerleading Team Selection: As stated above, you must register your child at the correct age/grade level. However, working within the 20% up/down maximum allowance, you may complete the "Special Squad Request" area on the on-line form. This area allows you to submit a special request for team placement for a specific reason. The Board will consider special requests once ALL registrations are finalized. Special squad placements are NOT guaranteed. The Board will consider each request individually, while working within the new County age/grade guidelines.

FOOTBALL NEWS: Please register your child in accordance with the 2009 County weight chart. Falsification of weight will void the registration and NO refund will be issued.

Congratulations also to our 80 Jr. team who fought 'til the end at their 

Super Bowl game but lost 7-0.

We had 4 other teams that made it to the playoffs as well, but were beaten in the first round. Those teams are AB Blue, 70 Jr., 70 Sr., and 100.

Congratulations also to four of our Unlimited Cheerleaders that received the Knighthood Award:

Alexandra Saunders, Taylor Stewart, Victoria Cooksey and Jenna Hartley.    

The Maryland Independent printed a huge article on one of our 70 Pound Sr. football players. HER name is Reed Butler. She is presently the only girl playing football for the Blue Knights. To read the article, please go to

Scholarship Awarded for 2009

The winners of this year's Dylan Raymond Scholarship are:

Tyler Krahling and Joshua Potter.

Joshua is attending Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA and Tyler is attending College of Southern Maryland this fall.

Congratulations to both of them. Thank you to everyone who applied, we had many qualified candidates and it was a tough decision.
