ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY

Physical or verbal abuse directed towards officials, coaching staffs, players or spectators before, during, or after a game will not be tolerated.  A suspension implemented by the L.M.H.A. Review Committee for negative or destructive conduct will result in the offender being banned from all city arenas. This will be enforced by the City of London until a successful appeal to the Board of Governors of the Greater London Hockey Association.

ABUSIVE LANGUAGE

No foul or abusive language by Coaching Staff or players will be tolerated at any time.

USE OF LMHA NAME AND LOGO

It is the policy of the Board of Directors of the London Minor Hockey Association that any use of the name London Minor Hockey Association in any way, shape, or form, (ie: LMHA, London Minor, etc.) is strictly prohibited unless prior written consent is received from the Board of Directors of the London Minor Hockey Association.

It is also the policy of the Board of Directors of the London Minor Hockey Association that any use of the London Minor Hockey Association logo, or any facsimile of the logo, is also strictly prohibited on anything (ie clothing, team or individual sweaters, promotional items, etc.) unless prior written consent is received from the Board of Directors of the London Minor Hockey Association.
Failure to abide by the above policies may result in that person's indefinite suspension from our program.

FUNDRAISING

Approval must be received by the LMHA Board of Directors for all team fundraisers.   Fundraisers will not be approved and may not be scheduled on any LMHA tournament weekends.

COACHING EXPENSES

It is the policy of the London Minor Hockey Association to not allow any Coach to request reimbursement for personal expenses incurred when they do not have a child on the team.

MANDATORY EQUIPMENT

LMHA requires that all players wear the following MANDATORY protective equipment at all times;  CHA approved hockey helmet with full facial cage or visor, neck guard, skates, shoulder pads, elbow pads, hockey pants, shin pads, jock or jill, gloves, socks and jersey.

Helmets may not have any stickers, may not be painted, and must be worn at all times, including on the bench and in the penalty box.

TEAM SOCKS

Players are to wear the supplied team socks for every game. Any player found wearing other team socks will not be allowed to participate in the game.
** Team socks are not to be worn upside down and may not be used in practices. **

PLAYING OUT OF AGE

The LMHA Constitution requires that every player register according to his birth age. Should there be a reason for the child to request to play out-of-age (up or down), the parent must request this change in writing. The child will attend the first pre-season ice time according to his appropriate birth age. An assessment will be made by representatives of the Board of Directors and a decision recommended. A player who is permitted to play 'down' because of his size or ability is not eligible to participate in any tournaments throughtout the year and cannot win any of the individual awards at RoundUp.

PLAYERS ASSISTING ON THE ICE

Only Midget aged players who are registered with LMHA for the current season are allowed on the ice to assist with team practices.

JEWELLERY

Players must remove all visible jewellery before going on the ice. The only exemptions are medic alert bracelets and necklaces.  Earrings must be removed.

DRESSING ROOM POLICIES

Use of a cellular phone in a dressing room is strictly prohibited due to the number of cell phones with cameras.

In the Novice and Atom divisions both genders may dress in the same dressing room at the same time with the presence of two adults/staff.  From Peewee level and up, players of mixed genders may not dress in the same room at the same time and, it is the responsibility of the coaches that all players are included in pre and post-game activities.

TEAM BANK ACCOUNTS

The respective hockey teams of the House League and Competitive divisions may open "team bank accounts", noting same are not to be opened in the name of the London Minor Hockey Association (as provided in the L.M.H.A. Constitution).  Monthly dues collected to cover team expenses do not require written approval of the Board.

SPONSOR SOLICITATION

Respective hockey team officials and/or team parents are not to solicit moneys, goods, and/or services from any LMHA team sponsors.

DUAL REGISTRATION NOT ALLOWED

"Any OHF registered Minor Hockey player or team official who participates in a game, tournament, training camp, prospect camp, selection camp or other similar event (other than those organized and operated by recognized academic institutions, native-people organizations) that is not sanctioned by the OHA or a Member Partner and that interferes with his OHF team’s regular season or play-off schedule shall immediately be suspended for one year."

SAFETY AT LMHA

COACHES HELMETS

All coaches will be required to wear helmets for practices.

All hollow-shafted sticks must have wood caps and be taped.

All players must wear helmets and have the face mask fully fastened at all times when they are on the ice.

EVACUATION PROCEDURES FOR COACHES/MANAGERS IN CITY ARENAS

As a responsible adult charged with the supervision of the children on your team, please familiarize yourself and the members of your team with all exits from the building as well as the exits from the ice surface. If the fire alarm has been activated, please:
1. Stay calm.
2. Stop all activity and listen for instructions from the P.A. System. If there are no instructions, always assume that an evacuation is required.
3. Instruct children to use the nearest exit to vacate the building. Do not return to the lobby or dressing room.
4. Move as far from the building as possible while making your way to the front of the facility.
Fire alarms will be sounded for all emergencies requiring evacuation, including ammonia leaks.
