Little League of the 3 Villages: LL3V History
The History behind The Little League Of The Three Villages
As the Little League Seasons begin and as the Seasons end, Players, Coaches, Parents and Spectators roam the complex that LL3V calls Home. Many look up at the names on the Backstops and see , Simmons, Hartnagle, Locke and Arch Deacon not knowing who they were, or what role they played in the League, to have their name attached to the Field. These questions and more will be answered on this portion of the Website, which is now reserved for the History of the LL3V. So as the many visit this site who are associated with this League or are just passing by, can learn the History behind it. This is a work in Progress as notes are being compiled and put together. Please stop back as more information is gathered and stored here..... If you might have something to add please Email MCR11776@HOTMAIL.COM

Articles about our League.... from the begining........
Northern Brookhaven Little League Newsletter Circa 1979...
1977- January 1977 was noteworthy because that was the approval date for our League to Lease the land required for erection of a number of Baseball and Softball fieldsat Ward Melville HS not only will more than 700 boys and girls being served by Northern Brookhaven LL in our 3 Village area benifit from these Fields, but the WM Girls Varsity and Junior Varsity School Softball Teams will have two of the best qaulity Fields in Suffolk County on which to play their games.
Actual groundbreaking began on October 14, 1978 during the rain which stopped at noon. Gene Hart, the Bulldozer man, Don Archdeacon, President of NBLL, Val Dirico ( Board Member ) and George Penza made a small dent in clearing what was than about 6-8 Acres of wooded property. that begining rain has been the only adverse weather we have had from thaen til now as clearing , rough grading, seeding and fertilization was all acomplished in one month from 10/14-11/14 Fencing began in March 1979 and the installation of Sod for the infields , waterlines , Baselines, etc...bringing the project to where it is today.
There are too many to mention in one article who have helped make this dream a realitybut both Bill Horan our Fields V.P. and I would like to thank them all from the bottom of our hearts, especially but not limited to:
Jim Wilson, for his many Hours donated at no cost with his grader and Backhoe

Tom Carney, a past President of NBLL ( LL3V ) , for his invaluable assistance in obtaining Backstops, Waterlines ( and know how ) Parking Lot Cable and anything else he could do for the League.
Spud Kassay , ( Spuds Electric ) for providing us with electricity for Security lighting.
Bill Lyon, ( Lyon & Reboli ) for his generous donation of the Paving and creation of our Parking lot and Roadway.
