Mission Statement

Long Island cheerleading has evolved into a serious sport requiring qualified, dedicated Cheerleading Coaches.  It is the Coach's responsibility to foster the promotion and enthusiasm necessary for cheerleading. Furthermore it is imperative that LICCA Coaches promote safety and good sportsmanship for their student athletes.

Dear Coaches,
The most recent report from the NYS Cheerleading Ad Hoc committee can now be found in the Handout Section to the left.  The report includes detailed recommendations regarding cheerleading's transition to a sport in New York State.  Please review the material.  We will be contacting the transition committee soon.  In the mean time, we ask that all coaches start talking to your athletic directors about this matter.  Start asking questions that are going to impact you.  The big question is WHEN?  LICCA has tried to make contact with the section leaders and the supervisors of this committee, and so far was have been shut out.  It seems as if our coaches' voices are not being considered.  The board and our loyal long-time members have spent years creating a successful competitive venue for our Long Island Cheerleaders.  You may find the states' solution a little disheartening.  Start being heard!

Under courses, select Sport Specific Courses, then Spirit.

At the Spirit Safety Certification Box, begin to log-in instructions to follow.

LICCA

The Long Island Cheerleading Coaches Association was established in 1994. Meetings are held approximately 4 times a year. LICCA holds safety clinics in the fall, sets standards for LICCA sponsored competitions, and follows National Federation SPIRIT rulebook an Section VIII and IX competition rules. All-Star and Scholarships are awarded to member schools. LICCA Registration

*Membership runs from May to May.   Just a reminder: All members must have renewed their membership before Safety Clinic.  The LICCA membership fee is $25.00 for all members except retired coaches who pay $15.00.  Any registration received after the Clinics will be doubled to $50.00; the only exception is for new members.  Please follow the procedure above and send payment to Gina Caputo.
