| Great tournament in NRGSL Gold RR going 6-0-1 for the weekend.In pool play to determine where you be seeded in bracket we went 3-0-1 beating Batbusters Wright, TX Fusion, Diamond Dolls and tying TX Glory Lutz we were seeded 2nd out of 20 teams there. In bracket we went 3-0 beating Envy, Team Alliance and TX Glory-Lutz but had to forfiet the Championship game against TX Elite because of the time being already late Sunday traveling back home, was no qualifier and my pitchers : Nikki not attending , Kelly's first tournament back since her injury and I didn't want her to pitch too many innings and giving Victoria too many innnings but she was pitching with more heat then last week ( in Tulsa knee was hurting and never complained ) but was clearly fatigued and it was hot.My catchers Amilia and Lauren called and caught some great games working well with the pitchers and doing a much better job of pitch selection and location on hitters especially with 2 strikes and they were well prepared for the heat this time. We out scored our opponents 32-10 in 7 games. LW was happy to welcome Kelly back from her injury for her first tournament this summer and she pitched better then expected we will definitely need her if we want to qualify for Gold in San Antonio. Our first three batters were awesome Landyn, Bianca and Shelby were on base all the time putting a lot of pressure on the defense with their speed and slapping and dragging ability. We still have not peaked as a team yet but we are getting their.Lets get ready for Sam Houston St University RR July 11-12 and KSA up there. Enjoy the fourth of July weekend off you deserve it
We did not do well in Tulsa OK this weekend going 1-2 losing to RR Blaze Gold who qualified and Tulsa Shootout Gold and beating Katy Cruiser Gold. One good thing did happen was that Nikki Bush will sign for St Gregory's who took second in the nation this year in NAIA division.After losing our first game and knowing we had a long road ahead, Nikki went 1-0 and pitched awesome in Tulsa it just goes to show you that you should never stop playing hard no matter what because somebody is watching especially if things are not going well the scouts want to see how you react and play when behind. They want to see you still giving 100% and leave everything out on the field.
