* * * NEWS FLASH * * * 2009 T-Gator Race Dates Announced!

The T-Gator Series was created to provide area triathletes with low-cost, no-frills USAT-sanctioned races. For $25 you get a well-managed, fun event in the beautiful setting of Sam Houston Jones State Park in north Lake Charles (Moss Bluff). Please help us keep the events affordable by (a) bringing a volunteer to help out and by (b) helping us clean up post race. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Early registration is $25 up to one month out from out the event then $35 there after until OLR closes. Late Registration may be available race morning if the race isn't sold out.

We are now limited to accepting 125 entrants to each event so be sure to sign up early or risk being turned away if the event sells out!

The series provides an excellent opportunity for beginner triathletes to improve their fitness and slowly build up strength and endurance. It also enables experienced triathletes to work on their speed while collecting valuable race credits that apply toward regional and national rankings.

Since this is a barebones operation, we don't do goodie bags or awards, T-shirts are not included in the entry fee but will available for you to purchase on race day.

Tri #1: April 11th, 2010 (500mS / 10miB / 2miR)

Tri #2: May 16th, 2010 (500mS / 13miB / 2miR)

Tri #3: July 11th, 2010 (525mS / 15miB / 2.5miR)

Swim is open water river swim, point-to-point, generally with the current if there is any current at all. Bike & run are on-road, out-and-back courses.

Number of participants is limited to 125. ONLINE REGISTRATION ONLY. OLR closes at midnight 3 days before event. If space available, registration within 48 hours of event is allowed but cost is $35. Cutoff will be 1 hour prior to race start.

All participants must be USAT members. One-day memberships ($10) and annual memberships ($39) will be available for purchase on race day. Those requiring USAT memberships should arrive 1 1/2 hours early. Current members must show their USAT cards & picture ID.

Sorry, no refunds or transfers. Race may be delayed or canceled due to hazardous weather. Park opens at 6 a.m.

"DNF" GUARANTEE... if you start one of our TGS races but are unable to finish for any reason, you will receive a complimentary entry into the next race in the series (pending availability). n.b.: You must actually START the race for this guarantee to be valid.
