We had a record number of registrations for the 2009 T-Gator Triathlon #1 with a large percentage of them being first time Triathletes. The cool temps made the race quite a challenge with mid a 40s air temp and the water sitting at 66 degrees. Although the water was about 20 degrees warmer then the air it was still one of the coldest one's that I've done. Make sure you come back to our second triathlon in July and see the opposite end of the spectrum as for as the weather is concerned. We had some new first time T-Gator Triathlon overall winners in Robert Killian who used a dominating run / bike combination to hold off the hard charging Mark Primeaux. Marie Claude Belanger took the overall for the Females with the fastest swim split coupled with the second fastest bike split to hold off Courtney Chisolm. Results are posted below and several hundred pictures from today's event can be seen HERE. The field was led by John Fell who stamped his dominance with a stellar bike ride that was over a minute and a half faster than second place Kevin Cart. LCT's own Peggy Yetman easily showed her dominance on the women's side with nearly a 15 minute gap to second place finisher Erica Chabalko.
