LCS Ends a Great Season
The Cougars made it to Bailey Park to semi-final action and faced off with Bay City All Saints. Bay City played well and LCS was out but, what a great ride! Read about the game in more detail below.
Thanks to All the Fans and Parents!
Coach Thompson wants to thank all the fans and parents for all their support this season. We are playing for the Lord but, it is encouraging to have your support and the excitement that you all helped to create. We hope we pleased the Lord and made you proud. We look forward to next year already in anticipation of another great year of baseball at LCS. Again, thanks for all your support and we will see you next spring!
Cougars Hang On to Win Quarterfinals!
The Cougars had a scare Tuesday at Gull Lake in the quarterfinal game against Mendon. After taking a 10 - 4 lead in the 6th inning, the Hornets came back to score 4 of their own. In the bottom of the 7th Mendon had runners at 2nd and 3rd with 1 out, there number two hitter at the plate and the Cougars hearts in their throats. A two run lead looked too small under the circumstances. Seth Borton bore down and got a strikeout for the second out. Now, the third hitter in the lineup was at the plate with the tying run 180 feet from home. On the first pitch, Chris Sheftic popped up to Matt Morgan giving the Cougars their first quarterfinal win. They will move on to play Bay City All Saints on Friday at 2:00 at Baily Park in Battle Creek! Great job Cougars!!
Cougars Win The Regionals
The next step for LCS will be in the quarterfinals at Gull Lake High School on Tuesday, June 13th at 3:00pm. You can read about regionals by checking the schedule section.
Regionals at Madison
The Cougars will be in action this Saturday June 10th at Madison High School. LCS will take on Potterville in game 1 which starts at 10:00. Game 2 between Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard and Reading is scheduled to start at 12:30. The championship game is scheduled for 3:00. Come on out and support your boys of summer!
Cougars are District Champs
Not since 1995 have the Cougars been able to capture a district title in baseball. On the day LCS put up 33 runs. That's in two games. If you add the 13 from the pre-district game with Summerfield your looking at a lot of offensive output. 46 runs in 3 games while allowing only 12. That kind of offense will be needed if they want to continue in the tournament. They play again on Saturday at Madison High School at 10:00am. Way to go Cougars!
Cougars Make it to Saturday
Come on out to Madison on Saturday to see the boys in action in the districts against Britton/Deerfield. The game is at approximately 12 noon!
