LEAGUE FACTS - DID YA KNOW ???

1. LCGFA is officially sanctioned in both ASA and USSSA.
2. For American League play, the basic rules document is the USSSA Fastpitch rulebook, National League follows the ASA Fastpitch rulebook.
3. For any game to be re-scheduled we must have the following information faxed to us at least 72 hours before your scheduled game time. It must be a mandatory school function (receiving a grade for participating) and require your team to forfeit the game before it will be considered (7 players or less). We must have the following information on school letterhead: ALL players names that are involved, school name, mandatory school function involved in, teachers name and contact number, and signed by teacher. THIS MUST BE FAXED AND RECEIVED AT LEAST 72 HOURS BEFORE SCHEDULED GAME TIME TO BE CONSIDERED. SENDING INFORMATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE GAME WILL BE RESCHEDULED!!
4. Two additional LCGFA documents explain specific league changes to the USSSA and ASA Fastpitch rulebooks. The LCGFA "FASTPITCH PLAYING RULES" and the "STANDING RULES" supercede certain portions of the ASA or USSSA rules for league play. Refer to these documents FIRST - Then the respective ASA or USSSA rulebook. Coaches and Fans - Please familiarize yourself with these documents. The Umpire Staff will call the games per these rules.
5. You can submit questions regarding rules on this web site! Simply click "Message Boards" on the upper portion of the main page and click on "Ask The UIC", then submit your question. This is for everyone to utilize.
6. Per LCGFA rules, the American League strike zone is larger that that of the National League. In the A.L., the batter should swing at any reasonably hittable pitch. In the N.L., the strike zone is the more traditional smaller zone.
7. All game balls are furnished to coaches and coaches are responsible for supplying one for each game. If the ball is judged to be unacceptable by the umpire, then another ball must be provided by the team. If no ball is available from the team, they must purchase one from the concession stand. We offer new and used game balls for sale. Inquire at the concessions stand.
8. All players are presented with a participation trophy at the end of the season. In addition, team and individual trophies are presented for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams of each division.
9. The Official Scorekeepers are NOT ALLOWED to notify ANYONE when a batter bats out of order. The Scorekeeper notes it in the official scorebook. The Official Scorekeeper works for the Umpires and it is the responsibility of the Coaches to question the opposing teams' batting order with the home plate Umpire.
10. If a team provides girls to work during both days of a LCGFA tournament at Rowlett Community Park, that team gets their choice of either a FREE LCGFA TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION FEE or, $290 in cash compensation. The work includes keeping water coolers filled, picking up trash, field and park set-up, and other responsibilities. If interested, please email us at info@LCFastpitch.com for details, or call our league line at 972-463-9370 to leave us a message and we will contact you!!!
