  Sat 11/7/09 8pm Varsity: Us (3), Warren-Sterling (4) - Scrimmage In this first scrimmage game of the year LC got goals from Kolin Morgan, Jordan Swift, and Cam Steger. Viking Arena
  Sat 11/14/09 2pm Varsity: Us (2), Kazoo Blades (1) - Scrimmage Kolin Morgan started the scoring with an unassisted, short-handed goal by fending off 3 Blades players behind the net and slipping one past the goalie.  Jordan Swift scored the game-winner with a power-play goal.  Tyler Morris and Nathan Propst were both solid in net.  This was a scrimmage and the scoring is all unofficial. Kentwood Ice Arena
  Fri 11/27/09 1pm Varsity Game 1: Us (4), Bay City Thunder (5) - Thksvg Trnmnt The first game of the year went into overtime as LC battled back from a 3-1 deficit to take a 4-3 lead at 11:57 of the third period.  The Thunder scored less than a minute later to tie the game and then scored 40 seconds into overtime to win.  Billy Watson scored the first goal with the assist to Braden McGillicuddy.  After the Thunder scored 3 consecutive goals, Kolin Morgan scored an unassisted goal to start the comeback.  Karson Arnold then scored with helpers going to Tyler Bitterman and Dennis Echelbarger.  Then it was Bitterman from Arnold for LC's fourth and final goal.  There were a total of 24 penalties with 10 of them assigned to LC.  LC outshot the visitors 26 to 18.

In the second game of the day the Kalamazoo Eagles get two shorthanded goals late in the third to edge FHNE, 4-3.

The Thanksgiving Tournament hosted by the Lowell-Caledonia Hockey Association will consist of the host team, the Bay City Thunder, Forest Hills Northern/Eastern, and the Kalamazoo Eagles.

  Sat 11/28/09 2pm Varsity Game 2: Us (2), Forest Hills N/E (3) - Thksvg Trnmnt LoCal jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first period via an unassisted goal by Billy Watson.  A Cam Steger goal from Tyler Bitterman tied the game 2-2.  Unfortunately, it wasn't enough as FHNE went on to win 3-2 despite a strong game in net by Tyler Morris.

In the Championship game the Kalamazoo Eagles came back from a 2-0 deficit to win 4-2 against the Bay City Thunder.  They went up 3-2 with only 1:01 left in the game and then salted it away with an empty netter.

  Sat 12/5/09 1pm Varsity Game 3: Us (4), Wayland (3) - League LC goal scorers were Cam Steger (2), Karson Arnold, and Tyler Bitterman.  LC built a 4-1 lead before Wayland fought back to make it 4-3.  Wayland had a 6 on 3 for most of the final minute but they were unable to get anything past Nathan Propst in net. Southside Ice Center
  Fri 12/11/09 6:20pm Varsity Game 4: Us (1), Waterford-Kettering (5) - Tournament Cam Steger scored the lone LC goal on a nice pass from Billy Watson.  The WK team outshot LC by quite a bit as LC was missing 4 forwards for this game.  Three of them should be back for the game tomorrow.

Muskegon Reeths-Puffer won the other game 3-1 against Milford.

The Waterford tournament will consist of Waterford/Kettering, Muskegon Reeths-Puffer, Highland/Milford, and Lowell-Caledonia.

We have blocked off a group of rooms at a hotel very close (1/4 mile) to the arena for the Detroit tournament.  If you want to stay you need to call and make a reservation.  Make sure you say 'you are with the group lock Lowell/Caledonia'.  Once 10 rooms are booked the rate gets lowered to $89.99 for the night.  This block of rooms will only be available until Nov. 30th so don't wait till the last minute.  It has a free continental breakfast, a pool and sauna.  The big Great Lakes Crossing mall is 15 -20 min away.  The Comfort Inn (Waterford, MI) their number is 248 666-8555

  Sat 12/12/09 6pm Varsity Game 5: Us (5), Milford (8) - Tournament With Milford leading 2-1 after one period the two teams erupted for 4 goals each in the second period for a 6-5 Milford lead going into the third where Milford scored two to seal the victory over L/C. Scorers for L/C were Dennis Echelbarger (1G), Braden McGillicuddy (1G-1A), Tyler Bitterman (1G-1A), Jordan Swift (1G), Billy Watson (1G).  Assists also going to Karson Arnold (2), Cam Steger (1)and Shane Videan (1.)

  Fri 12/18/09 9pm Varsity Game 6: Us (1), Muskegon CC (5) - STUDENT NIGHT The Muskegon Catholic Crusaders (3-0) visited Lowell Caledonia (1-4) for a late Friday night game at Kentwood Ice Arena.

The Crusaders came out hard and fast scoring four goals in the opening period to spoil 'Student Night' for the home team. Josh Corgan got things started scoring a power play goal with the assist going to Connor Seymour. The next goal was another power play goal scored by Ty Jaenicke, assisted by Reid Munroe. Munroe would be next to light the lamp with helpers going to Jaenicke and Rowan Daniels, to give the Crusaders a 3-0 lead. Scott Hall would put his team up by four before the end of the first, with another assist to Munroe.

The second period would start much the first ended with Corgan scoring again in the first minute of the period. The game would remain 5-0 until a Dan Tome' breakaway was able to put one past MCC goaltender Thomas Marine, with assists going to Kevin VanDenBerge and Cam Steger. Marine would finish the game with 12 saves for the win while Lowell-Caledonia goalies Nathan Propst and Tyler Morris would face 49 shots, stopping 44.

Student Night was a big success as over 160 Lowell and Caledonia students showed up for the game. Kentwood Ice Arena
  Sat 12/19/09 4pm Varsity Game 7: Us (0), GR Christian (5) - League STUDENT SPECIAL:  FREE Slice of Pizza to the first 40 students.  FREE Chuck-A-Puck (prize is a $25 gift certificate)

  Wed 12/23/09 7pm Varsity Game 8: Us (0), East Kentwood (6) (From the West Michigan Hockey Blog)
Five different Kentwood players put the puck to the back of the net as Kentwood took it to Lowell-Caledonia 6-0. In what progressed into a very chippy game, tallying 17 penalties and 8 of those in the third period, EK outshot LC 28 - 15.

Scoring for East Kentwood were Chris Laux with a goal in the first and a goal in the third, Brett White, Alex Talcott, Tyler Layle and Ian Post. Also tallying points, with assists were Tommy Allen, Jimmy Davis, Cameron Mowery (2), Nick Christie, Evan Conn and Alex Talcott.

Daniel Leahy turned away all 15 shots he faced, earning his first shutout, while Tyler Morris for Lowell-Caledonia saw alot of the little black biscuit as he faced 28 shots turning away 22 of them. Kentwood Ice Arena
