Hello all my soccer friends unfortunately all good things must come to an end. Last year was my last year for the Hunter Meckes Tourney. I have  been truly bless over the last 7 years and so thankful for everyone's support!! Thank you to all my friends from Lehighton Area Soccer Club for your help and support, thank you Lehigton High School for your help also and the community for helping to make my dream come true. Without all of you my dream of never letting my son be forgotten would not have happened!!I have met and  made alot of friends along the way, parents, coach's,and teams. I am so honored to have had you all be a part of something so close to my heart! God bless all of you on your future endevors. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Tournament Day Information

Property Map & Directions

Click here for directions to the Lehighton Area High School.  If you are using Mapquest or a GPS for directions, use 1000 Union Street, Lehighton as the address.  Click here for the map of the property.

Registration Area & Parking 

Registration will be near the Administration Building parking lot. Please park in the parking lots on either side of the high school.  Once registration has been completed, the parking lot by the Administariton Building will be open for parking. Parking along the roadway through the school property is restricted to the designated side of the road as indicated on the map.  Please do not park on any grass covered areas.   

Tournament Day Registration

A representative from each team must register their team one hour prior to their first scheduled game at the Registration Area with the exception of teams that have 8 a.m. games who may register after their first game.  Please have the following documents ready at registration:
  • One copy of your team’s State approved/stamped roster.  Please line out any players who will not be participating and add names of any guest players before submitting at registration.  5 guest players are permitted.
  • Current valid original player passes for all competing players listed on the State approved roster.
  • Birth certificates or current valid player passes for guest players.
  • Medical release forms for all competing players.  Completed EPYSA medical release forms are acceptable.  Click on the handout below for medical release form. 
  • High School divisions please bring proof of age for your players and signed medical release forms to registration. ( BC or drivers licence) 

 Grilling, Pets & Smoking Prohibited

Grilling is not permitted and pets are not allowed on the Lehighton High School property.  The School is also a smoke free zone.  Thank you for your cooperation in obeying the School’s policies  

Balls and Jerseys  The home team is to have 2 game balls for each match.  Game ball sizes are:  U9 through U12=size 4; U13 and up=size 5.  All teams should have alternate jerseys available.  The default for who will change jersey color in the event of color conflicts is the first team listed for each scheduled game.  

Patch Exchange  This is a patch exchange tournament.  Don't forget your patches!

Concession, Vendors & Other Activities

DJ Larry is back by popular demand spinning the tunes to keep us rocking all day.  Local non-profit groups and other vendors will be selling food and beverages  as well as soccer merchandise and other items.   There will also be a basket raffle with all proceeds to benefit the Jim Thorpe Booster Wrestling Club...Hunter was also a wrestler.

Please remember to enjoy and HAVE FUN!!!  Treasure the fun with your child…victory or defeat…it doesn’t matter as long as they are happy and are having fun.

Handout: Medical Release Form

For our out-of-town guests, we have blocked rooms at the Country Inns & Suites, conveniently located right off the Mahoning Valley exit of the Northeast Extension of the PA Turnpike.  The rate for a room with 2 queen beds with a microwave and refrigerator is $99 per night. Upon arrival, the Hotel will provide each player with a welcome bag with a bottle of water and a snack.  Check in time is 3:00 PM and check out time is 12:00 Noon.

The Hunter Meckes Soccer Tournament is an EPYSA approved tournament sponsored by the Lehighton Area Soccer Club.  Proceeds from the tournament are used for scholarships for students from the Jim Thorpe High School and to benefit the Hunter Meckes Memorial Scholarship Fund of the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation for scholarships for students from the Lehighton Area High School.
