All-Star Eligibility
Beginning with the 2006 season, the Lafayette Little League Board of Directors, in the interest of fairness to the players who have played in and supported the Lafayette Little League organization over the years and as a means of preserving the integrity of the league, adopted a rule regarding All Star selection and eligibility . During its meeting in September 2007, the Board of Directors reaffirmed its support of the rule. During its meeting in August 2008, the Board of Directors reaffirmed its support of the rule and addressed concerns raised during the preceding 2 years. The rule provides as follows: Any player who has not played in both of the two preceding spring seasons at Lafayette Little League shall not be eligible to play on any Major League level All-Star team except for good cause shown. Good cause shall include, but not be limited to, a player who did not play in the preceding two years because he or she was not living within the Lafayette Little League geographical boundaries and, therefore, was not eligible to play for Lafayette Little League.
