Council Fund Raiser: After Hours @ The Square
Come down to the new downtown of West Chester, The Square @ Union Centre for our own version of the Parties in the Park, After Hours @ The Square.
These events are held every Thursday during the summer. Live bands perform and people gather and enjoy beverages and good company.
Our Council and our St. John Boy Scout Troop are the beneficiares of the proceeds for beverage and snack sales for half of this year's events. If you want to help, contact SK Tony Dittmeier. Otherwise, come on out and support the effort and enjoy your neighbors.
St. John Council is pleased to announce the recipients of our 2009 College Scholarships:
Ms. Jennifer Meyer & Mr. Nicholas Bogart
Jennifer and Nick were selected from twenty-six applicants from our Parish. The twenty-six applications represented an average GPA of 3.5 and presented many good ideas in response to the essay question:
What do you think churches can do to help people in our community get through the nation's current challenging economy?
Council 13608 is pleased to recognize these students from our Parish. We thank each of our applicants for their participation and ideas.
The Council presented the $500 Scholarships to Jennifer and Nick on June 8, 2009.
