WCLL and Crosby Community Club Pancake Feast at the Crosby Community Club on April 7th from 8am-10am.
Welcome to West Central Little League (WCLL), where our motto is: “Teaching sportsmanship, fair play, and teamwork, while building community spirit through the game of Little League Baseball.” If this your first year, thanks for making the decision to join us. We believe that the Little League is about more than individual athletes-it’s a real family endeavor, and we are looking forward to getting to know your family. If you are returning for another season with WCLL, welcome back. We’re glad that you’ve made the decision to join us for what we know will be another fun and exciting year. We’d like to take this opportunity to share important information and to answer some of the more frequently asked questions.
Volunteers: Our organization is run entirely by volunteers. From the board members to coaches to the concession stand worker, we depend heavily on the support of our WCLL families. If you are interested in becoming a WCLL volunteer, we have plenty of areas where we could use your support. Whether you feel most comfortable behind home plate, flipping burgers, or stuffing envelopes, we’re confident that we have the perfect volunteer opportunity for you. An important source of income for WCLL is our concession stand, located at our home Crosby field. Besides being a source of revenue, we believe that it provides an important service to our families. In addition to the traditional gum, chips, and soda, we provide a low cost family meal which includes chili, hotdogs, hamburgers, and even breakfast sandwiches for our Saturday morning games. As with all other aspects of our league, the concession stand is run entirely by volunteers, and we need your help! A general signup sheet will be available during the registration process, with a formal schedule to follow as soon as our game schedule is released. We hope to have all our concessions stand slots filled with volunteers by Opening Day. If there are still slots available at this time, however, the home team will be responsible for providing two volunteers to work during the game. There will always be a knowledgeable concessions manager working at the stand to assist you, so you need never feel intimidated working there. This is a fun and important volunteer opportunity that we encourage you to participate in.Because the safety of our athletes is always our top priority, all volunteers must submit a volunteer application form (each year) with a valid picture ID, which is used to conduct a background check. All information remains confidential, and is seen only by the league president and safety officer.Once again, thank you for making the decision to join West Central Little League. We are excited to be beginning our 9th season, and we’re glad you’ve signed on to be a part of it!
