Brief History of Kings Minor Basketball
The association was founded about 20/21 years ago by Richard Foote, the physical education teacher at Coldbrook and and Kevin Vienot the Basketball coach at Central Kings(Year to be confirmed).
YEAR 1
- The association was a COED association that only played games within the association. No league No officiated/structured games.
- Mr Foote and Vienot ran the Organization for that first year only then it transitioned to a group of parents
- The association had a Home Base at CK and Coldbrook
STARTING YEAR 2 till the Mid 90s:
- The league was managed by the Carter Creaser, The Pool Familiy and Other (Find Details)
- The programs were offered to 5 year old up to Bantam.

- Problems with gym time at CK resulted in the program expanding to Berwick around 1995. It continued in the same structure of internal COED play and non-league play against other groups (a bit how it exists on the south shore or Yarmouth)·
- Around 1997/1998, KMBA started entering provincial competitions
- KMBA Mini Girls won a D3 Championship in 2004 or 2005 (verification needed)
- KMBA Bantam Boys won a D4 or D5 Championship around the same time 2005/2006?. (verification needed)
- KMBA team got progressively better and had to compete in the City for a few years. (Need more detail)
- They had a Midget boy program at one time but have been unable to sustain it because of school team conflicts.
- The Kings Hants League started around 2001/2002 with KMBA as a founding member.
- Kirk Longmire and Cameron Hamilton were in charge of the Associationfrom 2004 to 2008
- David and Janet have shared the presendency since 2008

Slam Tournament
Both our team participated in the St. Margaret’s Bay SLAM Christmas Classic tournament over the Christmas break. Team Mutch were in against stiff competition playing a roster of Halifax Division 2 teams. Although they did not win, improvement was seen by all players throughout the tournament.
Team Hachey played to a 2-1 round robin against Division 1 level teams, winning against SLAM and Antigonish before losing a close Game to the Atlantic Basketball Association (ABA) Celtics.
In the final, a barn burner of a game! The rematch with ABA Celtic with the result being a 33-30 win for the Dartmouth based team. Serena Dolan was named KMBA's Tournament MVP
