Kick it for LAM: Welcome

Midwest LAM Foundation
Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM)

Welcome to the Midwest-based LAM Foundation fundraising website. Our goal is to raise awareness and fund research for LAM.

Lymphangioleiomyomatosis, better known as LAM, is a progressive lung disease that typically strikes women in the prime of their lives - most often during their childbearing years. Over the last 14 years, The LAM Foundation has worked to bring hope to members of the LAM community, raising awareness among physicians and women, and acting as a resource for physicians and women with LAM.

The LAM Foundation is actively engaged in identifying potential targets and treatments for LAM. For more information visit: www.thelamfoundation.org. To view LAM videos visit: www.youtube.com/lamfoundation

On September 12th, Brad and Karen St. Louis hosted the first annual Breathe Easy Adventure Race (B.E.A.R.) at Proud Lake Recreation Area in Wixom, Michigan, to raise money for The LAM Foundation.

The B.E.A.R. included twenty two racers that navigated their way through five challenging and fun hours of trail running, mountain biking and canoeing, raising a total of $1,200!

A HUGE thank you to Karen and Brad for many months of hard work and dedication to make such a great event happen.

To the racers—Adventure Racing is one of the few sports where just completing a race is often considered a victory, so you are all winners!

To the donors—Thank you also to the generous donors: Barb Zerb, Kayak Corral, Play It Again Sports, Meijer, Seven Lakes Golf Course, and Heavener’s Canoe Rental.
