Kenton Girls Soccer: Welcome
It is with mixed emotions that I am writing you today. For the past ten years, I have been proud to have been the head coach of the Kenton High School girls soccer team. I am honored to have been able to follow my former coach and mentor, Chuck Merold as the coach of this program. Over the years, the program has continued to improve and has grown into one that fields a competitive side in every match they play in. Our league and overall records continue to improve, we have won four runner-up trophies in summer tournaments, played a match in Columbus Crew Stadium and won numerous academic team awards. I have had the opportunity to coach some of the most remarkable students to have ever attended KHS and it fills me with pride to see each of them move on to college and full time employment. Hopefully someday, they too will have the opportunity to give back to the soccer community and teach their children the “beautiful game.”
It has been said that all good things must come to an end. I have reached a point in my coaching career where I am ready for a new challenge and a change in scenery. I have been offered, and have accepted, the head coaching position for another high school soccer program. I am extremely excited for this new opportunity and the support from the community and administration that comes with it. I believe that I am leaving the Kenton program in the best position it has been in and can foresee a great deal of success for them in their future. To the players, I will miss seeing each of you every day and watching you grow as soccer players and as young ladies. I wish all of you the best of luck and I will be rooting for you from the sidelines when possible. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and the program, especially Coaches Merold, Kapanka, Raszka and Styer; Russ Blue; Rick and Rebecca Whitaker; the Athletic Boosters and so many others. Thank you again for this opportunity and Go Cats!
