2009 Welcome Letter

Dear Parents and Players,

Welcome to another fun & exciting season of Kennewick Babe Ruth Baseball!

As I enter my fourth year as the KBRL President, I am extremely proud of the many accomplishments the KBRL organization made in 2008.  The new concession stand was in full operation for the 2008 season and the 2008 13 year old State Tournament was a great success.  We were able to showcase Roy Johnson Field as well as exhibit KBRL's ability to host tournaments at that level.

I would also like to point out that the Kennewick Practice Field, located at 6th & Dayton, recently received a much needed "face-lift" thanks to a group of dedicated parents, the Kennewick School District and KBRL.  Due to the large number of games KBRL offers, it is imperitive that we have quality fields outside of Roy Johnson available for play.  Thanks to all that were involved on that project!

We still have a few open Board positions and are now accepting Coaching Applications for the 2009 season.  As President of KBRL, I would encourage you to become involved in your league to continue to bring Kennewick Babe Ruth recognition as a state-wide known organization.

We have a very informative website that I also encourage you to view.  This will show the latest events taking place in the league as well as a calendar.  Our monthly Board Meetings are typically the third Wednesday of each month and are held at Roy Johnson Field.  I personally invite you to attend these meetings as your opinions and suggestions are important to me and the Board of Directors.  The KBRL Board is faced with many decisions that affect your player and we need to hear your opinions and suggestions to help us make well-informed decisions.  Please try and attend our monthly meetings.

We trust that you will support us in our effort to help your athlete develop self-control, and to build friendships as well as confidence.  He/she will also learn waht teamwork and sportsmanship are about.  This will also work on their physical conditioning and their alertness.  With all these things they will learn life-long lessons and with your support they will have FUN --- and that is what they are ultimately here for.

Let's have a great season......and, Let's Play Ball!!!

Dennis Schoenberg

Kennewick Babe Ruth President
