Play Ball
Volunteers - Katy PONY is a volunteer-based non-profit organization dedicated to provide the best youth baseball experience possible.
Rules - Ground rules for Open League games are posted on the website and are located in the concessions building.
Rosters - Open League team rosters must be posted on the Nations Baseball website prior to the start of the season. In addition, a hard copy of your roster printed from the website must be signed prior to the start of the season. Any roster changes after the start of the season must be made prior to the Open League game that the added player will be used, and the player must be added to your roster on the website to be valid and not subject a team to a forfeit with an illegal roster.
Sportsmanship - Unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated. Umpires will maintain control and have the authority to eject or remove players, coaches or fans from the facility. Only the team manager is allowed to question a ruling after a time-out is called. Protests are not allowed on judgment calls. Managers are responsible for the behavior and conduct of the team's coaches, players, parents and fans. Be a good sport and set an example for our youth.
Games - Make-up games will be scheduled on the first available date as time permits and may occur on weeknights, Saturday afternoons, or against different opponents. Game schedules will not be changed during the season due to team conflicts. A minimum 48-hour "no-show" notice must be provided to avoid risking forfeiture of remaining games.
Parking - Vehicles are restricted to designated parking areas only. Parking on the grass or inside the complex near the concessions building may result in a citation. Overflow parking may be available on certain days -- located on the far north side of the parking lot, through the gates behind Field 1. Please drive slowly and constantly watch for children. Make sure there is no one behind you before backing up. Valuables should not be left inside your vehicle. Please secure it in the trunk, carry it with you, or leave it at home. There have been recurring theft problems at local county parks. Be on the lookout and report any suspicious activity.
Photographs - There are two league-approved photographers allowed on the fields to take action photos of the players. Parents and fans are always welcome to take pictures, but will not be allowed on the fields and should not take pictures from the dugouts.
No Litter - Dugouts must be cleaned of litter before leaving. Please keep the stands clean for the next game. Trash cans are located only a few steps from the stands.
No Smoking - The use of tobacco in any form is not allowed in the dugouts, buildings, stands or playing areas. You must leave the playing field and remain away from the area to smoke, dip or chew tobacco.
Between Games - Please vacate your dugout as quickly as possible if another game follows. The next game's players should not attempt to enter the dugout until it has been vacated entirely.
Last Game of Day - Home team is responsible for returning the scorebook and controller to the concession stand. Both teams should make sure all gates to the dugouts and fields are closed before leaving.
Play Ball! - Enjoy the games, cheer for the kids and be a role model for the children.

Field Usage - Open League Sanctioned Teams
Katy PONY's fields are managed and maintained by employees and volunteers of Katy PONY. No one is allowed to utilize a field without verbal or written permission from the Division Director of that field. Participation in Open League games does not entitle teams to use the fields or facilities for practices.
The following is a list of Open League Division Directors responsible for managing the schedule of events. If your team is a sanctioned member of Katy PONY's Open League, please contact the following individuals to schedule field time and they in turn will contact the Facility Director. Each field is generally limited to two sanctioned teams, who pay additional fees and take on additional responsibilities to support the league.
Field #1, 2 - Daleno Johnson (katyowls@gmail.com)
Field #3, 4 - Darryl Box (darryl_box@hotmail.com)
Field #5, 7 - Harold Bennett (hbenkaty@aol.com)
Field #6, 8 - Jason Bastubee (jbastubee@sedbud.com)
Check this website or the rain out number before heading up to fields for possible closures due to maintenance and/or wet conditions.
The fields and batting cages are reserved for Open League sanctioned teams on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays (after 5 pm) and Sundays. Regular League teams have the fields and cages reserved on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays (up to 4 pm). The cages are first come first served for these teams. If you come to use the cages and a regular league team is using them remind them of this policy and politely ask them to leave. Also limit the usage to a maximum of one hour and use one cage unless no one else is waiting to use them.
If no other teams are waiting -- "Hit Away" and "Pitch" as long as you like!
Practice Etiquette
-- If another team is waiting, leave the field a few minutes before your time expires
-- Use the batting cages either before or after your scheduled field time … not during
-- Conduct after-practice meetings off the field
-- Let others use the bullpens if you're not using them
-- Leave the field in good condition ... clean dugouts of all trash and close the gates
-- Inform your field coordinator at least 48 hours in advance if you're not going to use one of your practice time slots
-- If you schedule a scrimmage with an outside team, make sure they bring a copy of their team insurance form
-- Report any damage to the Facility Director
