Pre-Camp Final Instructions

Dear Camper, Here are your final details/instructions for you before arriving for our Volleyball Camp. Congrats again on your decision to join us. We think it’s the best camp going and hope you learn a great deal. Come in with a great attitude and be ready to work hard!! Here are some preliminary instructions. Put them on your favorite bulletin board so you will NOT lose them!
1. Use of drugs and alcohol are forbidden. Any violation of this policy will result in immediate dismissal from camp with full loss of tuition. 2. In addition to the nutritious, plentiful meals, there are vending machines and concession areas if you desire a snack of some sort. A camp store will also be open during registration and the evening session each day. Volleyball apparel/souvenirs will also be available. 3. A camp bank will also be provided. At registration, you will have an opportunity to make a deposit or buy “Boko Bucks”. During camp, withdrawals may be made at certain times. A balance of more than $5.00 at the end of camp will be refunded; less than $5.00, there will be no refund. 4. In addition to the usual summer sportswear, campers should bring an alarm clock, volleyball shoes, shorts, sweatshirt, and other volleyball needs, plus swim suit, bath towels, toilet kit, soap in a container, light jacket, and a plastic drinking cup. Please have some identifying mark or lettering on all clothing! You will also need to provide bedding, including a pillow. For ease, a sleeping bag is recommended, but not required. A cloth or sheet should be used between the mattress and sleeping bag. 5. If you are driving your own automobile to camp, you will be asked to park and lock your car. KEYS WILL BE TAKEN UP FROM ALL CAMPERS. No camper is allowed to drive off campus at any time! Parking passes will be distributed during registration. 6. An athletic trainer will be on duty during all activity times. Please check with him/her regarding any specific training needs that you may have. 7. Please understand that your safety is first with us. The counselors will always be available when walking to and from the residential hall, to the dining hall and to the coliseum. Do not leave the facilities by yourself. 8. Emergency – Parents will be notified on any potentially serious illness or injury. If you are going to be unavailable during your camper’s stay with us, please provide an alternate telephone number so we can reach you, should an unexpected emergency occur. 9. Balances – Please try to get all balances in by June 28th. If it is not possible, bring cash or a money order on the day of registration. NO CHECKS ACCEPTED!
IMPORTANT DETAILS SESSION I:
1. Registration will be held between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM on Monday, July 6th at Strahan Coliseum. 2. Your first meal at camp is dinner on July 6th. Please eat a hearty lunch before arriving at camp. Your last meal at camp will be lunch on Thursday, July 9th. 3. Any mail you expect to receive at camp should be addressed to you at: Falls Hall, Texas State Volleyball Camp, San Marcos, TX 78666. 4. The camp telephone number from 8:00-5:00 Monday—Friday is (512) 245-3832 or 245-3583 . The Falls Hall office number, for emergency messages only, is (512) 245-2221. University police number after hours is (512) 245-2805… emergencies only! 5. Camp will close at approximately 4:45 pm, on Thursday, July 9th. All campers will play in a camp tournament beginning at 2:00 that afternoon. All parents and friends are invited to join us at that time to watch your camper in action! An awards ceremony will be held at 4:00 pm at Strahan Coliseum. Campers will be dismissed at the conclusion. Looking forward to a great camp!

IMPORTANT DETAILS for YOUTH CAMP 2009: 1. Registration will be held between 12:30 PM and 12:45 PM on Monday, July 6th at Strahan Coliseum. 2. Your session that day will begin at 1:00. It will end at 4:30. 3. The times for following three days of camp will be 1:30-4:30. 4. Day 4, Thursday, closing ceremonies will begin at 4:00 that afternoon. 5. The camp telephone number from 8:00-5:00 is (512) 245-3832 or 245-3583. University police number after hours is (512) 245-2805… emergencies only! Please call if your camper will not be at camp any day. 6. Each day there will be a 15 minute break. Concessions will be sold at that time. You can send money daily or make a deposit in the camp bank (it’s call the Boko Bucks!) during registration. Refunds will be made the last day (anything over $5.00). 7. We ask that you bring your camper into the coliseum each morning by 8:55am (or 1:25pm the last day) and please come inside and pick him/her up by 11:45am (or 4:30pm the first and last day).
