LOTS OF FUN HAD AT THE JVDA CHAMPIONSHIPS!
WELL, we didn't win, but we had a lot of fun while we were there! Girls did great while on the court, and off the court I've never had so much fun. Thanks to everyone for a great year, and I wish you all continued success with whatever you do in the future. I hope you keep me updated with your school seasons and your future college plans. Good luck to you all!

I am so happy with each girl pushing herself and looking the challenge that I made to them in the eye. Things are looking good for KVC 17s.

ROOS lose in the 1st round of the gold bracket.
Well, we tried our best, but came up short at the NKJV Aces Challenge. It was a little flat, but nothing we can't get past.
We were 1-1 in our first pool play, beating Union 17s and losing to Dayton Jrs. DaJa Blue.
We then repooled and were 1-1 in our second pool, beating AVA 17s and losing to Evansville River City 17s.
We then came back on Sunday and lost in the first round of the gold bracket against Dayton Jrs DeJa Blue- again- in three. We showed a little burst of energy in that match, but just couldn't hold it together to win the third game.

17s take SILVER at Sports Express "Dig or Die" in 18s division!
GREAT JOB THIS PAST WEEKEND! Everyone did an AWESOME job this weekend. We started out slow, and just barely got by in some squeakers, but we ended up 2-1 in our pool beating NorthStar Volleyball 18 Elite in our first match in three: 19-25, 25-18, 15-8. Then we lost to Greater Miami Volleyball Club (GMVC 18 Lightening): 14-25, 20-25. We came back in our third match to beat Columbus United VBC 18 Spring: 23-25, 25-18, 15-12. Even though we beat two out of three of the other teams in our pool, we wound up in the silver bracket due to a three way tie breaker by the winning percentage of overall games. SO...... with going on to Silver, we defeated Kaepa Miami Valley Jrs. Academy VBC 18-1 in a definite 2 game win: 25-23, 25-20 which pushed us into the FINALS against Cincy Volleyball Club 17 Red where we worked hard to win the three game match: 24-26, 25-23, 15-9.
I can't tell you how pround I am of all of you for your hard work, your refusal to give up, and your ability to get the game finished in the end! We grew a lot as a team. Some highlights of the day: Julie getting the ball stuck, coming back from losing the first game against NorthStar to take our first match. Coming back from being down in the third game against Columbus United 3-8 and WINNING the game for the match, crushing the Miami Valley Jrs. 18-1 team in a 2 game set. WINNING FINALS against a tough Cincy VBC team! And don't we have some crazy yo-yo's or what? Walkin' the dog.......
Great job to each of the girls who all did something throughout the day to keep me smiling---Carly: for passing NAILS in the finals so we could run ANYTHING we wanted to, Rachelle: for Blocking that ball back in that big girl hitter's face in the finals- TWICE IN A ROW, Cassie: Subbing in to serve THREE ACES in the finals match like ice was running through your blood, Brittany: for stepping up HUGE in the final match to take control offensively and become the leader that lies within you, Shelby: for finding that "You CAN'T beat me" attitude in the finals that had been lurking quietly all day to get the team FIRED up and ready to win (Sockojaweeya-sp?), Amy: for serving 4 serves in, in a row, TWICE in the finals with no fear of missing when it counts, Kayla: for CRAMING that ball straight down with ATTITUDE from the outside like it was HAMMERTIME!!, Alicia: for showing your toughness in the FINALS, taking demanding control of your team, the court, and the game, Bill: For shaking it off after a few mistakes to play as if you knew there would never be another mistake made- CONFIDENCE when it counts! LAUREN: for playing your hardest all day (making a HUGE impact on the team through leadership, spirit, and skills and for showing us how much it means to you to be part of our TEAM!!!! Our 17s team that placed the highest of ALL 17s team in the tournament! SILVER CHAMPS! NEXT WEEK IS GOLD!!!
Pics are in the DIG OR DIE album.
