"A team few believed would prosper as well as it did this season, Kennesaw Mountain proved all its naysayers wrong after defeating Parkview, 2-1, on a walk-off wild pitch. The errant throw from Panthers pitcher Desirae Thomas scored Kristi Rodriguez from third and sent the Lady Mustangs to the elite eight in Columbus for the first time after five straight appearances in the sectionals."
