Robert Wade is the Head Coach and Manager of the KC Zephyrs Gold 18-U Junior Olympic Fast Pitch tournament team. Coach Wade formed the Zephyrs in 1998. From the beginning his goal was to develop girls into premier fast pitch softball players in order to afford them the best possible chances to play softball in College. As Rob and the Zephyrs begin the 2010 season, over twenty Zephyrs have signed their national letters of intent to play softball at Division 1 schools, most were afforded full scholarships.
Coach Wade has guided the Zephyrs to an incredible team record after 11 years of play, of 544 wins and 263 losses to date. The Zephyrs are a five-time ASA A National Qualifiers. They have played in the ASA Hall of Fame tournament three times and were runners up in the that tournament in 2003.
The Zephyrs under Coach Wade have won three KC ASA Metro Championships 2000, 2004 & 2005. The Zephyrs teams have won an astonishing 33 tournament championships to date including the very first tournament the team ever entered back in the fall of 1998.
Coach Wades guidance has helped bring accolades to several high school players.
9 - 1st Team All state players in Kansas and Missouri
A 2-time 1st Team NFCA National High School All American
6 - Kansas City Star 1st Team All Metro players
1 - Kansas City Star Player of the year
1 - Kansas Gatorade Player of the year
In addition four Zephyrs have won at least two State Championships for their respected high schools.
In 2008 Coach Wade was selected as an assistant coach of the Class of 2009 All Stars in the Independence Day Exposure tournament in Boulder Colorado.
Also in the Summer of 2008 Coach Wade was afforded the once in a lifetime opportunity to be chosen as an assistant coach for the St Louis ASA All Star Team that played against the United States Olympic Team on the Bound for Beijing Tour. In that game the St Louis All Stars Lost 3-0.
Coach Wade and his wife Darcie have two daughters, Nichole Clark of Columbia MO (22), and Jordan Wade (18) and reside in Raymore Missouri.
