KC ZEPHYRS College Prep/Gold: Welcome

Founded in 1998 the KC Zephyrs is a premier college prep softball team that competes at the ASA 18 Gold level. The goal of the Zephyrs is to enable each of its athletes to realize their dream of successfully playing softball at the collegiate level.

An objective of the Zephyrs is to provide college coaches a proven source of potential players for their programs. The Zephyrs’ primary goal and objective are achieved by following a three phase program.

First athletes work to establish the skills and routines that are recognized by college coaches as a prerequisite for college level play. These skills are then showcased where college coaches will have an opportunity to see the athletes compete against the top teams in the nation.

Getting a commitment for the athlete to play softball at a desired college is the second phase of the Zephyrs program. Zephyrs players are counseled on the college recruiting process and follow proven methods that assist them in determining their best college prospects.

Third, after an athlete has committed to a college the athlete must continue working on skill improvement and testing those skills in competition at a high level. Through direct communication with college coaches Zephyrs coaches help athletes work on further development of the skills that will contribute to success on their college team. It is important that the athlete devote adequate time for such improvement well before reporting to practice on the college campus.

This third phase of the Zephyrs program is one that is often neglected many athletes!

Most of all, the KC Zephyrs strive to provide an environment where an athlete’s love of the game will grow and dreams of playing college softball can be realized.

Marty Tyson's Weekend with the Zephyrs 2009

The Corona Angels Gold Head Coach Marty Tyson Made his now yearly visit to KC to work with the Zephyrs Organization for three days. The girls worked hard, but Marty worked harder! We are very lucky to have a friend like Marty that is willing to share his knowledge of the game with our program. Everytime he comes here I feel like we take a step forward in our progression as a club and our girls loved every minute of it.  Click here for a shutterfly picture album of his visit:http://zephyrsandmartytyson2009.shutterfly.com/
