MOKAN IS THE TOP 15U TEAM AT THE K-STATE SHOWCASE - FINISHES 4-1-1 & REMAINS UNDEFEATED VS. RIVAL MAC N' SIETZ IN '06 & '07
In the summers best event to date, MOKAN enjoyed great pitching even while D1 LHP prospects Albert Minnis and Jordan Shipers remained away at Team USA.
In the big game of the tournament, the tremendous rivalry of the M&S Indians and Giants was resumed and ended in a 7-7 tie. In what many called "one of the greatest games in the history of the age division", the Giants mounted 2 furious comebacks to tie, one from 4-1 and another when down 7-4 following the Indians Kyle Gehrs towering 7th Inning - 3 run HR. Then, in the bottom of the 7th, Jordan Martinez's 3 RBI triple and Chris Bates tieing RBI brought the G's back again. The game ended 7-7 due to event rules.
Congratulations to all of the players and coaches for another in a long line of great games involving the Giants and Otis Miller's tremendous program. These guys have been at it for years and the great sportsmanship continues. Best of Luck to the Indians for the remainder of their season.
