On June 15, 2005, one day after graduating from Parkland High School, Justin Sheftel's life tragically ended. He was hit by a drunk driver in Ocean City, MD where he was celebrating Senior week. The driver, also a young man, left the scene of the accident, he later returned and it was confirmed he was DUI and speeding at the time. He was sentenced and has served time in jail and will be responsible for 40 hours a year for three years of community service. This community service will be focused on talking to High Schools about the dangers of drinking and driving and making those types of decisions. Linda Sheftel will also be participating with him during these talks. To view more about the speeches, click on the speeches button.
